Full Job Description
Join our manufacturing team as a Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist and help create a safe, compliant, and high-performing workplace. In this role, you'll lead safety audits, deliver training, investigate incidents, and drive a culture of safety across the facility.You'll combine engineering and EHS expertise to ensure manufacturing and finishing processes meet OSHA requirements and ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 50001 standards. Experience with fabrication and powder coating operations is highly preferred.

This position is based at our manufacturing facility in El Paso, Texas, and follows a Monday-Friday schedule, with weekend coverage as required.

What will you do?
  • Support and optimize manufacturing and finishing processes with strong emphasis on employee safety, regulatory compliance, and risk reduction.
  • Ensure operations comply with OSHA General Industry standards, aligned with OSHA 30-hour General Industry principles and best practices.
  • Apply safe-by-design concepts to fabrication activities, material handling, powder coating systems, curing ovens, ventilation, and supporting equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with and support the implementation of ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety), and ISO 14001 (Environmental) management systems.
  • Conduct Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), hazard assessments, and risk evaluations for welding, machining, cutting, forming, material handling, and powder coating processes.
  • Identify and mitigate hazards related to powder coating operations, including combustible dust, chemical exposure, grounding, ventilation, curing ovens, and waste management.
  • Lead investigations of incidents, near misses, and nonconformances using root cause analysis; ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented and sustained.
  • Support internal and external audits associated with ISO certifications and OSHA compliance, ensuring timely closure of findings.
  • Develop and maintain EHS documentation, including SOPs, process risk assessments, and safety controls for manufacturing and coating operations.
  • Provide technical guidance and safety training to employees, reinforcing OSHA requirements and ISO system compliance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on injury reduction, environmental performance, and regulatory compliance.

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?

  • Experience in manufacturing, engineering, or EHS/safety-focused roles.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication processes and applicable OSHA General Industry requirements.
  • Working knowledge of powder coating operations, related equipment, and associated safety and environmental risks.
  • Practical understanding of OSHA 30-Hour General Industry standards, hazard recognition, and injury prevention.
  • Experience working within ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 50001 certified environments.
  • Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate physical, chemical, ergonomic, fire, and environmental hazards.
  • Proven ability to integrate safety, compliance, and risk management principles into engineering and operational processes.
  • Knowledge of risk assessment, incident investigation, and root cause analysis methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); CAD software experience is a plus.
  • OSHA 30-Hour General Industry certification preferred.

For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD 86,400 - USD 129,600 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the pay range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
