Following a recent promotion, we are looking for a new safety leader to champion all things safety and environmentally related at our Menasha Plant. What you will do- Foster a safe work environment and lead by example, adhering to and enforcing all safety and regulatory procedures. Promptly acting on unsafe situations.
- Immediately report potential food safety or product quality issues to the management staff or shift supervisor.
- At least 50% of time is spent in the production environment supporting a variety of EHS activities which can including:
- Managing employee's safety concerns
- Workplace Inspections
- Risk Assessments - New and Updating
- Safety Walks with different teams and Plant Leadership
- Contractor Inspections
- Programmed Safety Focused Audits
- Management of Change (Machines, work areas, etc.)
- The balance of time is used for administrative tasks such as:
- Leads Safety Team
- Ensuring local authorities, regulations, rules and codes, programs and policies related to safety are observed. Including interfacing with authorities when required and ensuring accurate record keeping and reporting.
- Participating in corporate safety audits and follow up.
- Ensuring accident/injury investigations are completed, causes of incidents are identified and preventive action steps are completed.
- Managing Workers' Compensation claims in partnership with Human Resources.
- Coordinating with Human Resources to ensure that all required safety training is developed, scheduled, conducted and managed according to an established timeline.
- Development of Facility and Individual Safety Goals
Education / professional background- Bachelor's degree in Safety or Environmental or other related field preferred.
- 2-4 years of related experience is preferred
