Full Job Description
Introduction

Chevron Phillips Chemical is seeking an Air Environmental Engineer to join the Cedar Bayou Environmental Team located in Baytown, TX. The Air Environmental Engineer manages environmental regulations and air permits related to company operations for assigned operating area. The Air Environmental Engineer works closely with operations to maintain environmental compliance for permit compliance tracking and recordkeeping. This role also develops methods and assembles data for environmental compliance reports including the semiannual deviation report and performance tracking for continuous improvement. The Air Environmental Engineer conducts environmental audits to evaluate compliance with permits and regulations and represents the company during agency inspections and negotiations. The Air Environmental Engineer also provides support and guidance for air permit amendments/renewals and permit by rule submittals.

Responsibilities

  • Manages regulations and permits related to company operations
  • Develops and implements strategies to maintain environmental compliance
  • Develops methods and assembles data for environmental compliance reports and performance tracking
  • Evaluating gaps and helps deploy environmental compliance solutions
  • Provides environmental training to operations, maintenance, and other departments
  • Maintains environmental compliance database
  • Ensures compliance with agreed orders and other legal documents
  • Conducts environmental audits to evaluate compliance with permits and regulations
  • Maintains a solid relationship with federal, state, and local regulators
  • Represents the company to regulators, the public, and trade organizations
  • Represents the company during agency inspections and negotiations
  • Serves as an internal consultant on environmental projects and solutions
  • Evaluate Management of Change (MOC) to ensure environmental compliance and attend the MOC evaluation meetings.
  • Participate in the JSA process as an environmental representative.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of environmental experience
  • Related degree in engineering or environmental studies
  • Proficient in communicating the technical aspects of complex environmental laws and regulations
  • Experience with State and Federal environmental regulations


Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of plastics and ethylene manufacturing processes and regulatory requirement
  • Experience with StackVision and/or specialty applications
