Job Description

AECOM is seeking a highly motivated Environmental Data & Digital Integration Specialist to support project delivery and advance digital and technology adoption across AECOM's Environmental Business Line.

The successful candidate will work closely with project teams to understand delivery needs and improve how environmental data is collected, managed, validated, analyzed and reported. The role will coordinate solutions and integrations across EQuIS, GIS, Power BI, Microsoft 365, databases, APIs and other approved digital platforms.

This is a hands-on role that combines environmental data management, digital solution design, systems integration, project support and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will have working knowledge of EQuIS and understand its role in environmental data management, while maintaining a broader focus on connecting people, processes, data and technology to support effective project delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Use working knowledge of EQuIS to support project onboarding, data workflows, reporting and integration requirements, escalating platform-specific configuration or administration to EQuIS specialists where appropriate.
  • Support environmental data workflows from field collection and laboratory deliverables through validation, storage, analysis, visualization, reporting and project close-out.
  • Assess business and project needs, map current workflows, identify pain points and recommend fit-for-purpose digital solutions.
  • Coordinate and improve integrations among EQuIS, GIS, Power BI, Microsoft 365, databases, APIs and other approved environmental and digital delivery tools.
  • Configure or coordinate digital field data collection, dashboards, reports, automated workflows and other project solutions using established tools and standards.
  • Translate environmental, regulatory and project delivery requirements into clear functional requirements, user stories, workflows and implementation plans.
  • Provide project teams with practical guidance, troubleshooting, demonstrations, training materials and ongoing support throughout the solution lifecycle.
  • Promote standardization and reuse by documenting workflows, developing templates and playbooks, and incorporating lessons learned into future projects.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews of data workflows, integrations, dashboards and digital deliverables to support accuracy, traceability, reliability and usability.
  • Collaborate with environmental data managers, subject matter experts, GIS professionals, developers, IT, information security and digital leaders to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Support proposal development and project planning through technical inputs, scope definition, solution architecture, effort estimates and delivery planning.
  • Support change management and technology adoption activities, including stakeholder engagement, pilot planning, feedback collection, adoption tracking and continuous improvement.
  • Mentor colleagues and contribute to building digital capabilities across the Environmental practice.


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, geology, engineering, geography, information systems, data management or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Approximately 4+ years of relevant experience in environmental consulting, environmental data management, digital delivery, systems integration or a related field. Candidates with a different experience profile may be considered where they demonstrate the required capabilities.
  • Demonstrated understanding of environmental project workflows, including field data collection, laboratory or analytical data, QA/QC, reporting and project delivery.
  • Working knowledge of EQuIS and its application to environmental data management. Deep platform administration or custom development expertise is not required.
  • Experience connecting or coordinating multiple systems, data sources or delivery teams to support an end-to-end workflow.
  • Experience with at least two complementary platforms or capabilities, such as ArcGIS, Power BI, Power Automate, SharePoint, SQL, APIs, digital field applications or relational databases.
  • Ability to gather requirements, document workflows, evaluate options and effectively translate between environmental practitioners and technical specialists.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills and a consultative, service-oriented approach.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, work collaboratively across disciplines and move initiatives from concept through implementation and adoption.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in environmental consulting, environmental data management, digital delivery, systems integration or a related field.
  • Experience supporting contaminated sites, remediation, water quality, hydrogeology, geotechnical, natural resources or other environmental programs.
  • Experience with EQuIS Collect, Enterprise dashboards or reports, EDP/EDD workflows, EnviroInsite, REST API connections, or integrations with analytics and geospatial platforms.
  • Experience using Power BI for environmental reporting or visualization, including data modelling and dashboard development.
  • Familiarity with relational databases, SQL, Python, Power Query, Power Automate, APIs or low-code integration approaches.
  • Experience facilitating workshops, delivering training, mentoring staff or supporting organizational change and technology adoption.
  • Experience developing scopes, estimates and technical content for proposals or project plans.
  • Understanding of data governance, metadata, information security, data quality, records management and responsible technology deployment.
