Job Summary Under limited supervision and oversight, the Environmental Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the implementation of environmental compliance programs, permit requirements, and corporate environmental policies, standards, procedures and strategic environmental goals within their assigned region, plant and project scope. Responsibilities include providing training, guidance and other necessary support to business unit leadership and staff on applicable environmental requirements, identifying applicable environmental requirements associated with Company assets and projects, and coordinating with the appropriate business unit staff, Environmental Services representatives, contractors, and external parties to ensure compliance with environmental requirements.
The Environmental Coordinator should have basic understanding of some of the following environmental programs:
• Above ground and underground storage tanks
• Transportation of hazardous materials
• Solid and hazardous waste management
• Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures
• Wastewater, storm water, groundwater, and drinking water sampling, reporting and control
• Oil and chemical spill response and management
• Air emissions monitoring, control and reporting
• Asbestos and PCB management
• Pollution prevention
• Environmental site assessments
• Emergency planning and community right-to-know

The minimum qualifications outlined below apply to the Environmental Coordinator with increased education, skill, experience and certification requirements for higher level Environmental Coordinator Senior up to Principal.What You'll Do:Essential Job Functions & Tasks- Coordinate and implement all environmental activities and policies in the assigned region(s) to ensure compliance with environmental laws, regulations and Company policies, standards, procedures and strategic environmental goals. - Provide support in the event of a release or discharge of a regulated substance including making agency notifications, arranging contractor support, directing cleanup efforts if necessary and completing follow-up reports with regulatory agencies.
- Promote and enforce (see something, say something, do something) safe work practices to safeguard employees, contractors, the general public, and Company facilities.
- Provide support during environmental compliance reviews, Phase I or II environmental site assessments and remediation projects.
- Coordinate the response to public inquiries regarding environmental matters.
- Develop and maintain all environmental documents and records in accordance with environmental content management standards.
- Conduct environmental reviews of regional disposal contractors and related facilities and manage contracts associated with Environmental Services.
What We're Looking For:Education- Associate or Bachelor's degree in an environmental, science, or related discipline.
Work Experience- Minimum of six (6) years of environmental experience with an Associate degree
- Minimum of four (4) years of environmental experience with a bachelor's degree.
Licenses/CertificationsAdditional Requirements (Preferred Qualifications)These are additional expectations for the job and could include specific work experience, preferred education or certifications, pre-employment testing, expectations about travel, shift work, etc.
- Physical demand ranges from sedentary to light duty.
