Description

The Division of Mine Reclamation and Enforcement (DMRE) is hiring an Environmental Control Manager in theTechnical Support Branch. DMRE is responsible for inspecting all surface and underground coal mining permitsin the state to assure compliance with the 1977 Federal Surface Mining Control Act (SMCRA).
Holders of the Environmental Control Manager position will complete tasks such as:
- Provide overall management of the Technical Support Branch, overseeing all programs and projects
- Supervise staff and the administrative activities necessary for the continual operation of the regional office
- Interpret, apply and assist in the development of departmental policy within the Division
- Investigates citizen complaints and requests for inspections

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION:Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree in a natural or physical science.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:Seven years of experience in natural resources, environmental control, mining reclamation, mining inspection or regulation of mining activities, energy conservation, energy development, energy management, blasting activities, or oil and gas well inspection.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE:Graduate study in the physical or biological sciences will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION:Experience in natural resources, environmental control, mineral extraction, mining reclamation, mining inspection or regulation of mining activities (such as mine permit preparation and review, sediment pond and hollowfill design), energy conservation, energy development, energy management, blasting activities, or oil and gas well inspection will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Probationary Period
