Job Summary: The Environmental Compliance Engineer will play a vital role in ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, implementing sustainable practices, and mitigating environmental impact throughout American Rheinmetall's multiple worksites. The focus will be on monitoring, analyzing, and improving environmental performance to align with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Essential Functions: - Monitor regulatory changes and updates, keeping current on environmental regulations pertaining to manufacturing processes, ensuring that all operations comply with local, state, and federal laws.
- Conduct regular assessments of manufacturing processes to identify potential environmental risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop, implement and maintain environmental policies, programs and procedures to minimize environmental impact and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Develop and implement strategies to reduce waste, conserve resources, and promote environmentally friendly practices across all manufacturing locations.
- Oversee waste management programs, including the proper handling, disposal, and recycling of materials, in accordance with environmental guidelines.
- Monitor and manage air and water emissions, implementing measures to minimize environmental impact and maximize efficiency.
- Develop and provide training and guidance to staff on environmental best practices, fostering a culture of environmental responsibility.
- Prepare and submit reports on environmental performance, including data on emissions, waste management, and compliance metrics, to internal interested parties and regulatory agencies as required.
- Conduct audits and participate in the internal audit program.
- Participate in third-party ISO 14001 audits and regulatory agency inspections.
- Collect and analyze data from various platforms to ensure accuracy and identify patterns in complex datasets.
- Participate in corrective / preventive action teams to resolve environmental compliance issues and respond to regulatory agencies as required.
- Travel to company locations as needed to support environmental compliance and site engagement.

Minimum Qualifications:- Strong attention to detail, especially in document management, environmental audits, and system updates.
- Knowledge of environmental management systems (ISO 14001) and environmental compliance regulations and reporting (e.g., MAERS, SARA Title III, SWPPP, SPCC).
- Analytical skills for identifying process gaps, tracking waste, and supporting corrective actions.
- Strong communication and organizational skills to collaborate across teams and support improvement initiatives.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new regulatory compliance standards, customer requirements, and environmental documentation practices.
- Strong computer skills. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel formulas and analytics.
Education & Experience - Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Background Prerequisites:Must undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification, reference checks, physical, and controlled substance testing.
