Environmental Compliance and Sustainability Engineer

We are seeking a Compliance Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment and takes ownership of complex environmental compliance programs. This role places a strong emphasis on air permitting, emissions compliance, and Clean Air Act regulatory requirements, while also supporting water and waste compliance initiatives. You will partner closely with plant leadership to proactively manage compliance risks, maintain permits, and support operational excellence across multiple facilities.

What You Will Do
  • Oversee compliance with the Clean Air Act and applicable federal and state air regulations
  • Manage Title V and other air permits, permit modifications, and renewals
  • Prepare emissions inventories, regulatory reports, and compliance documentation
  • Coordinate stack testing, emissions calculations, and ongoing air monitoring activities
  • Interpret and apply EPA, state, and local environmental regulations
  • Support wastewater and hazardous waste compliance programs
  • Conduct environmental audits, inspections, and corrective actions
  • Serve as the primary environmental liaison with regulatory agencies
  • Monitor compliance metrics and proactively identify environmental risks
  • Partner with plant operations to implement sustainable compliance solutions
  • Develop and deliver environmental compliance training


What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or a related discipline
  • 3+ years of environmental compliance experience in manufacturing
  • Demonstrated experience managing air permitting and air compliance programs
  • Strong knowledge of Title V permitting, Clean Air Act requirements, emissions inventories, MACT/NESHAP, and NSPS regulations
  • Experience working with EPA and state regulatory agencies
  • Experience conducting environmental audits and compliance reporting
  • Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills
  • Ability to travel 20-30%
  • Professional Engineer (PE), CHMM, or similar certification preferred
  • Experience with stack testing and emissions calculations preferred
