Full Job Description
Environment Architect
Role Summary
Own the end-to-end creation of replica environments (high-fidelity clones of websites and web applications) used to train computer-use models. This is a hybrid technical lead and delivery role: you will contribute hands-on across the stack while managing external dev shops to deliver production-quality replicas across multiple parallel projects.
Required Technical Skills (Must-Have)
  • Full-stack engineering: React + Python web backend (FastAPI preferred)
  • Data layer: SQL databases, schema design, complex queries
  • Data modeling & synthetic data: explore/define data models, specify synthetic data requirements, validate realism and coverage
  • Architecture judgment: define system boundaries, integration points, and offline/replica constraints
  • QA and verification: define acceptance criteria, systematic testing, high-quality bug reports, follow-through to resolution
Core Requirements
  • End-to-end ownership: accountable for the replica environment delivery from scoping to release-quality handoff
  • Vendor-led execution: can decompose large builds into well-scoped milestones, manage accountability, and maintain velocity without micromanagement
  • Vendor evaluation: can vet technical capability and process fit (including paid trials) and make "keep/cut" decisions quickly
  • Quality radar: recognizes corner-cutting early; enforces engineering and UX/behavior fidelity standards for replicas
  • Communication discipline: proactive status/risk/blocker management; clear internal updates on progress and timeline changes
Candidate Submission
  • 5+ years: Experience managing technical delivery; running multiple parallel workstreams
  • 5+ years: Experience managing external dev shops/contractors
  • Examples of shipping complex full-stack systems (React + Python + SQL)
  • A short description of your vendor evaluation approach
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Candidate can be remote. The office is in SF, CA. Must be available for some PST hours.
