Full Job Description
Colossal is seeking an experienced Entertainment Producer to turn ambitious creative concepts and unfolding real-world stories into high-impact documentary and original productions, from initial planning through final delivery. This role is ideal for a resourceful producer who thrives in unpredictable laboratory and field environments, can manage crews, scientists, logistics, and shifting circumstances without losing the creative vision, and is excited to build the production infrastructure for a rapidly growing entertainment team.

This position is based on-site full time in Dallas, TX. Relocation assistance is available.

Responsibilities:

End-to-End Production
  • Lead full-cycle production from pre-production through final delivery
  • Translate approved concepts into production plans, schedules, and budgets
  • Oversee all shoot logistics including crew, equipment, locations, and permits
  • Drive efficient execution while maintaining high production value

Budgeting & Resource Management
  • Build and manage project budgets, tracking costs across all phases
  • Allocate resources across multiple productions
  • Identify cost efficiencies without compromising output
  • Partner with the Head of Production (Marketing) to forecast and scale production needs

On-Set & Field Execution
  • Lead productions on set and in the field under real-world conditions
  • Manage crews, vendors, and talent during production
  • Troubleshoot issues in real time
  • Ensure safety, compliance, and operational standards are met

Post-Production & Delivery
  • Oversee post-production workflows, timelines, and deliverables
  • Coordinate post-production teams and vendors, including color and sound mix
  • Track versions, feedback, and approvals

Pipeline & Vendor Management
  • Establish and manage a scalable production pipeline for entertainment projects
  • Coordinate resources across marketing and entertainment workflows
  • Source and manage freelance crew, vendors, and production partners
  • Negotiate contracts and maintain production standards

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience producing and managing productions in documentary, unscripted, or series content with real-world and field-based production demands
  • Background working with small teams building content pipelines or production systems from the ground up
  • Experience scaling multiple concurrent productions while maintaining quality and efficiency
  • Familiarity with post-production workflows, including managing external vendors (edit, color, sound) through delivery
  • Experience sourcing and managing freelance crews and production partners across different regions
  • Comfort working cross-functionally with creative, scientific, and operational teams
  • Interest in science, technology, and de-extinction
