REPORTS TO: Senior Director of Technology Enterprise Strategy & Operations
POSITION OVERVIEW:The Enterprise Technology Program Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing large-scale operational programs that support the lifecycle, distribution, and management of technology assets across Boston Public Schools.
This role leads the development of standardized, scalable programs for managing staff devices, classroom technology, telecommunications assets, and print services across the district. The Program Manager ensures that these programs are efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with the district's broader technology strategy and operational goals.
Working within the Technology Strategy & Operations team, this role partners closely with procurement, service delivery, network and field operations, and enterprise systems teams to ensure seamless execution of programs from planning through implementation and ongoing operations.
Responsibilities: Program Design & Implementation - Design and implement enterprise-wide programs for technology asset lifecycle management, including:
- staff device deployment and replacement
- classroom technology and instructional hardware
- Develop program structures, workflows, and operating models that support scalable and consistent delivery across the district
- Define program goals, timelines, milestones, and success metrics
Asset Lifecycle Management - Establish and manage end-to-end lifecycle processes for technology assets, including procurement, deployment, maintenance, refresh, and retirement
- Develop and maintain standards for asset tracking, inventory management, and lifecycle planning
- Ensure alignment between lifecycle planning, budgeting, and operational needs
- Coordinate closely withAsset Management program manager or directly manage execution where applicable
Vendor & Contract Coordination - Partner with procurement and vendor management to support sourcing, contracting, and management of technology vendors
- Oversee vendor performance related to device programs, print services, telecommunications, and other managed services
- Ensure vendors meet service expectations, timelines, and contractual obligations
- Support evaluation and selection of vendors for program needs
Cross-Functional Coordination & Execution - Technology Service Delivery (support model, service catalog alignment)
- Network & Field Operations (deployment and on-site support)
- Enterprise Systems & Security (device configuration, MDM, security requirements)
- Ensure clear roles, responsibilities, and handoffs across teams
- Maintain alignment between program execution and operational realities in schools and central offices
Program Performance & Continuous Improvement - Develop and track program performance metrics, including cost, utilization, service levels, and lifecycle efficiency
- Monitor program effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement
- Implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve user experience
- Provide regular reporting to leadership on program performance and outcomes
Documentation, Standards & Process Development - Establish clear documentation for all lifecycle programs, including workflows, policies, and procedures
- Standardize processes across programs to ensure consistency and scalability
- Support the development of operational standards and best practices across the department
Qualifications - Required: - Bachelor's degree in business, operations, technology, or related field
- Experience managing asset lifecycle programs, operations, or logistics at scale
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Experience coordinating across multiple teams and stakeholders
- Ability to manage timelines, budgets, and vendor relationships
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Current authorization to work in the United States
- An understanding of and commitment to gain greater understanding of what is necessary for an urban school system to enjoy continuous improvement in an increasingly complex and competitive environment.

Qualifications - Preferred: - Experience in K-12 education or public sector environments
- Experience managing device programs, telecommunications, or print services
- Experience working with asset management or inventory systems
- Familiarity with procurement and vendor management processes
- Experience supporting IT operations or service delivery environments
- Familiarity with Boston Public Schools
