About the TeamThe Engineering Platform Services team within Business Technology owns and drives innovation for the platforms that power software delivery, IT operations, and AI-augmented engineering across Workday-spanning IT Service Management, DevSecOps, Integrations, and Platform AI. We design for reliability and scale, build for reuse, and constantly ask how emerging technology can make every engineer and operator more effective.
About the RoleThe Enterprise Solutions Architect for Engineering Platform Services will set the architectural direction across all platforms. They will ensure the platform services function as a cohesive, scalable, and secure ecosystem. This a hand-on role where the architect will write code, lead design reviews, prototype solutions, and make decisions with multi-year implications. They will champion AI-forward design to embed intelligent automation into platform services in a governed and reusable way.
Job Duties: - Define Architectural Vision: Own end-to-end solution architecture across ITSM/ESM, DevOps, and Platform AI; establish reference architectures and design guardrails that drive consistency and scalability.
- Embed AI-Forward Design: Lead integration of AI and automation into platform services - including LLM-powered tooling and predictive ops - ensuring capabilities are secure, auditable, and reusable.
- Accelerate DevOps & Developer Experience: Define SDLC and DevSecOps standards to drive automation that reduces toil and shortens delivery cycles.
- Evolve Service Management Platforms: Architect scalable, AI-ready ITSM/ESM solutions with ServiceNow including integrations, workflow automation, and self-service capabilities aligned with ITIL best practices.
- Lead & Influence: Conduct architectural reviews, guide technology selection, mentor platform engineers, and represent the team in cross-functional forums and standards bodies.

Our Approach to Flexible WorkWith Flex Work, we're combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote. Our approach enables our teams to deepen connections, maintain a strong community, and do their best work. We know that flexibility can take shape in many ways, so rather than a number of required days in-office each week, we simply
spend at least half (50%) of our time each quarter in the office or in the field with our customers, prospects, and partners (depending on role). This means you'll have the freedom to create a flexible schedule that caters to your business, team, and personal needs, while being intentional to make the most of time spent together. Those in our remote "home office" roles also have the opportunity to come together in our offices for important moments that matter.
