About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Fraud & Claims Senior Manager / Executive Director.  This leadership opportunity sits at the intersection of fraud risk, employee conduct, operational excellence, and enterprise governance. Reporting directly to the Head of Global Employee Fraud Monitoring & Fraud Policy, the leader will help protect the integrity of Wells Fargo by overseeing one of the organization's most sensitive and high-impact employee monitoring functions. The role offers significant visibility with senior leadership and direct influence on strategy, risk management, talent development, and operational transformation.  As a result of the reporting alignment the position requires a mature, ready-now leader who can operate with a high degree of independence, sound judgment, and minimal direction.

This leader is accountable for one of two high-performing operations teams responsible for evaluating employee activity-based alerts, conducting in-depth research, identifying potential misconduct or policy violations, and determining appropriate outcomes, including escalation to Employee Relations, investigations, or other partner groups. The role requires a strategic, risk-focused leader with experience in fraud detection, conduct risk, operational risk, employee behavior analysis, and process execution. Given the nature of the work, this leader will be exposed to highly sensitive and confidential information, including ACP information, and must demonstrate exceptional discretion, professionalism, and judgment in handling restricted matters. The Senior Manager will be accountable for driving operational excellence, strengthening controls, advancing governance routines, developing talent, and building effective partnerships.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead a high-performing team responsible for evaluating employee activity-based alerts, identifying potential misconduct or policy violations, and ensuring appropriate investigative and escalation outcomes.

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight for Global Employee Fraud Monitoring operations, ensuring effective execution of monitoring, investigative, and case management activities.

  • Foster a strong culture of accountability, operational excellence, talent development, and continuous improvement through coaching, performance management, and succession planning.

  • Drive sound governance and risk management practices by maintaining strong controls, procedures, reporting routines, and ownership of key operational processes.

  • Lead regulatory, audit, compliance, control testing, and risk assessment activities, ensuring timely and effective remediation of identified issues.

  • Partner closely with senior leaders across Fraud Risk, Employee Relations, Compliance, Legal, Operational Risk, Human Resources, and other stakeholder groups to address complex employee misconduct and conduct risk matters.

  • Deliver executive-level insights, reporting, and recommendations by leveraging data, trends, metrics, and emerging risk indicators to support sound decision-making.

  • Influence the strategic direction of the program by identifying opportunities to enhance monitoring capabilities, strengthen controls, improve operational efficiency, and leverage emerging technologies, including AI-enabled solutions.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert on employee fraud monitoring, misconduct risk, investigative practices, and related operational processes.

  • Manage and prioritize human and financial resources to achieve operational objectives while balancing risk management, service quality, and organizational priorities

  • Handle highly confidential and sensitive information, including employee-related and ACP matters, with the highest levels of professionalism, discretion, and judgment.

  • Support product investment prioritization initiatives and ensuring effective outcomes leading user acceptance and regression testing for implementation.

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of Fraud Claim Investigations or Policy Violations, Risk Management or Compliance experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • 3+ years management or leadership experience

  • Proven ability to lead highly confidential and sensitive employee-related matters.

  • Strong executive presence and ability to influence across multiple levels of leadership.

  • Experience in Internal fraud monitoring and detection experience, external fraud detection, conduct management/employee investigations, conduct risk, operational risk or employee relations experience

  • Strong blend of required unique experience in fraud detection, employee conduct oversight, operational risk management, and leadership experience.

  • Strong experience with internal fraud, investigations, compliance, employee relations, risk of conduct, Insider Threat, Financial Crimes or operational risk


Job Expectations:

  • This role is based in Chandler, Arizona and requires regular onsite partnership with team members and leaders to support collaboration, coaching, talent development, and operational effectiveness. Candidates must be willing to work from this location.
