Overview

The Enterprise Data Security Architect is a newly created, Expert-level role responsible for defining and driving the enterprise data security strategy across modern cloud and on-premises data platforms. As part of Keysight's enterprise data and AI security initiatives, this individual will design scalable security architectures that protect enterprise data while enabling secure access, analytics, AI, and digital transformation.

Working closely with Information Security, Data Engineering, Infrastructure, Enterprise Architecture, Compliance, and business stakeholders, you'll provide technical leadership for enterprise-wide data security programs, establish governance standards, and ensure security is embedded into the design and delivery of modern data platforms. The ideal candidate combines deep expertise in both enterprise data platforms and security architecture with the ability to lead cross-functional technical initiatives and influence security strategy across the organization.

Responsibilities

Enterprise Data Security Architecture
  • Define and evolve the enterprise data security architecture, standards, and roadmap across cloud and on-premises data platforms.
  • Design and implement scalable security controls for modern data platforms, including Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Azure, and other cloud-native technologies.
  • Develop enterprise security architectures for Identity and Access Management (IAM), Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), encryption, data masking, tokenization, and Data Loss Prevention (DLP).
  • Establish security standards for structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data, including AI and analytics workloads.
  • Lead security architecture reviews for new data platform initiatives and provide technical guidance to ensure secure-by-design implementations.
  • Develop and maintain enterprise data classification, discovery, and protection frameworks to identify and safeguard sensitive and regulated data.
  • Champion Zero Trust principles for enterprise data access and protection.


Technical Program Leadership
  • Lead enterprise data security initiatives from strategy through implementation, driving execution across cross-functional teams.
  • Develop implementation roadmaps, project plans, risk assessments, and executive-level status updates.
  • Partner with Security, Infrastructure, Data Engineering, Analytics, Compliance, and business teams to deliver strategic security programs.
  • Proactively manage project dependencies, risks, and issue resolution to ensure successful program delivery.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and manage enterprise security technologies and vendor relationships in partnership with IT and Procurement.


Governance & Risk Management
  • Define enterprise policies, standards, and best practices for secure data access, sharing, and governance.
  • Partner with Governance, Risk, and Compliance teams to support audits, regulatory requirements, and security assessments.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend security best practices for cloud, analytics, and AI platforms.
  • Create and maintain architecture standards, reference designs, implementation guidance, and technical documentation.
  • Support enterprise incident response and data breach investigations in partnership with Security Operations.
  • Establish and report on key security and risk metrics (KPIs/KRIs) to measure program maturity and effectiveness.
  • Ensure alignment with industry security frameworks, including NIST CSF, ISO 27001, and CIS Controls.


Collaboration & Enablement
  • Serve as the technical leader and trusted advisor for enterprise data security across architecture, engineering, and project teams.
  • Partner with stakeholders across the organization to embed security into the design and delivery of modern data platforms.
  • Communicate architecture decisions, security risks, and program progress to technical and business leadership.
  • Drive adoption of enterprise data security best practices across the organization.
  • Deliver security awareness and enablement for Data Engineering, Analytics, and AI teams.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 6+ years of experience in enterprise security, cloud security, data architecture, information security, or a related discipline, with demonstrated expertise designing and implementing enterprise-scale security solutions.
  • 2+ years of experience leading or coordinating cross-functional technical initiatives, enterprise security programs, or large-scale data initiatives.
  • Deep knowledge of enterprise data security architecture, including:
    • Identity and Access Management (IAM)
    • Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
    • Data encryption, masking, tokenization, and other data protection techniques
    • Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
    • Cloud security across Azure, AWS, and/or GCP
    • Data governance, privacy, and regulatory compliance
  • Experience designing and securing modern cloud-based data and analytics platforms such as Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Databricks, or comparable technologies.
  • Proven ability to partner with Security, Infrastructure, Data Engineering, Analytics, and Enterprise Architecture teams to design and implement enterprise security solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence technical decisions, communicate architectural recommendations, and collaborate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex security concepts into practical business solutions.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, TOGAF, SABSA, Microsoft Azure Security Engineer, or SnowPro.
  • Experience implementing security controls for AI/ML and Generative AI platforms and workloads.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft security technologies, including Entra ID, Purview, Defender, Sentinel, or comparable enterprise security platforms.
  • Experience with enterprise data governance capabilities, including data catalog, metadata management, data lineage, and data classification tools.
  • Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks, Agile delivery methodologies, and DevSecOps practices.

Colorado Pay Range: Minimum $115,200 - Maximum $192,000
