Position SummaryEmagine IT is seeking an Enterprise Architect to provide enterprise-level technical leadership across all task areas for a federal government client. The role owns the target architecture, the standards baseline, and the future-state Roadmap, ensures architectural consistency and Zero Trust alignment, and advises the Government on technical risks, dependencies, and opportunities.
Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions- Provide enterprise-level technical leadership and ensure architectural consistency across all task areas.
- Own the target architecture, the standards baseline, and the future-state Roadmap; conduct Section 508 conformance reviews on engineering products.
- Advise the Government on technical risks, dependencies, and opportunities, and provide recommendations for Government consideration.
- Support modernization and optimization initiatives, ensuring alignment with approved architectural principles, standards, and Zero Trust (identity-aware access, least privilege, segmentation).
- Lead architecture and technical design reviews; ensure the common operating environment complies with the client enterprise architecture and applicable reference models.
- Support development and maintenance of technical standards and reference architectures aligned with client security requirements.
- Guide current-state and future-state architecture development, including sub-production (test/development) environment strategy across the program's environments.
Required Qualifications- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred); equivalent professional experience considered in lieu of a degree.
- Experience: Ten (10)+ years of progressive IT experience with demonstrated enterprise-architecture leadership on enterprise-wide or large-scale systems, recognized as a subject-matter expert across architecture, cloud, network, and identity domains.
- Architecture practice: Demonstrated ownership of target architectures, standards baselines, reference architectures, and modernization roadmaps; experience embedding Zero Trust principles into enterprise designs.
- Advisory skill: Proven ability to advise senior Government leadership on technical risk, dependencies, and opportunities, with exceptional oral and written communication.
- Clearance & citizenship: Must currently hold an active Secret clearance and be able to maintain it throughout employment. U.S. citizenship is required for this project by the client. All personnel must satisfy the government client's suitability and background-investigation requirements before receiving physical or logical access to facilities or systems
Preferred Qualifications- TOGAF certification; Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
- Zero Trust / security architecture credentials (e.g., CISSP-ISSAP).
- Experience with Section 508 conformance and Federal enterprise architecture frameworks.
- Prior federal modernization / roadmap leadership.
