Job DescriptionPosition Title: Account Director
Location: San Francisco, CAThe RoleAs an Acquisition Account Director role, you will be responsible net-new customer acquisition by identifying, qualifying, and closing new colocation opportunities. This role focuses on prospecting, solution selling, and deal execution with Large Enterprise customers that require secure, scalable data center infrastructure. The ideal candidate thrives in a hunter sales environment, excels at opening doors, and can navigate complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles.
What you will do- Prospect and acquire net-new colocation customers
- Identify customer pain points related to uptime, scalability, latency, compliance, and cost
- Generate pipeline through outbound prospecting, partner referrals, and events
- Lead discovery conversations to understand technical, operational, and business requirements
- Design and position customized colocation solutions including:
- Cabinets, cages, and private suites
- Power (kW-based), cooling, and redundancy options
- Interconnection, cross-connects, and cloud on-ramps
- Translate technical capabilities into business value and ROI
- Own the full sales cycle from first meeting through contract execution
- Coordinate internal resources (sales engineering, operations, legal, finance)
- Prepare and deliver proposals, pricing models, and executive presentations
- Negotiate contracts and close deals that meet margin and growth targets
- Maintain accurate CRM records and pipeline forecasts
- Meet or exceed quarterly and annual new logo revenue targets
- Develop relationships with channel partners, brokers, and consultants
- Collaborate with marketing on campaigns and account-based strategies
- Represent Digital Realty at industry events and customer meetings
What you will need- 5+ years of direct sales experience preferred.
- Proven success closing net-new enterprise accounts
- Experience selling complex, multi-year solutions (infrastructure, IT, or services)
- Strong discovery, qualification, and negotiation skills
- Ability to engage both technical and executive-level stakeholders
- Self-motivated with strong territory planning and time management skills
- Bachelor's Degree required.

Our published pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and geographical location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training. Moreover, an employee's total compensation package varies by role and may include salary, cash bonus or commissions, and equity awards not quantified below.
Compensation range: $137,000 to $160,000 per year. This compensation range represents the Company's good faith belief as to what it will pay as a base salary for this position at the time of this posting.
