What you’ll be doing...

You will be responsible for designing, modifying, developing, writing, and implementing custom web-based applications. The applications will be used by network personnel and a high-visibility department's management team within the Verizon network team. You will also be responsible for automation projects, data imports and other server-side scripts, system design (architecture), stakeholder management, researching and providing recommendations, on-call support, and mentoring junior developers.

• Collaborating with team members including Maintenance Engineering, Planning, and data application owners to determine best practices and requirements as the business evolves. 

• Analyzing data to ensure data integrity and utilize the data in decision-making.

• Onboarding new concepts, building framework and end-to-end development to include testing through production.

• Tracking usability goals and preparing reports for senior management.

• Developing mockups for our development and design team.

• Responsible for the reliability, performance, and security of the automated processes and will be the subject matter expert with a strong focus on automation to eliminate manual processes.

You'll need to have:

• Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience.

• Ability to learn, adapt, and convert code to a new language on a timely basis.

Even better if you have if you have one or more of the following:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Supply Chain Management, Statistics, or Economics.

• Ability to thoroughly test the developed applications prior to implementation.

• Ability to provide support to hundreds of users of the developed applications.

• Strong troubleshooting skills to analyze complex solutions and problems.

• Interpersonal skills with a commitment to quality and satisfaction.

• Experience with large-scale IT systems.

• Coding skills in Python.
