The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a Full-Time ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (NJ-0802-04) to work at Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) in the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Complex (OC-ALC) at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The position is responsible for operating sand printing equipment, assembling sand and investment molds for casting operations, and supporting foundry activities including molten metal pours. The technician will operate and maintain equipment within the sand printing and casting areas to support the production of prototype and production components. Additionally, the position supports metrology operations by setting up and operating advanced measurement equipment for repeat inspection tasks and assisting engineers in the development and execution of new metrology processes in support of Air Force customers. Requirements: - U.S. Citizenship - Obtain & maintain a Security clearance - Positive degree requirements Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 1. Extensive knowledge and ability in communicating both verbally and in writing in technical terms with architects and mechanical, civil, structural, and electrical engineers. 2. Ability to translate and convert technical requirements into understandable written language from which managers and laymen can understand. 3. Ability to creatively modify existing and/or standard practices and to adapt techniques, procedures, and equipment to solve a variety of technical and management problems is required. 4. Comprehensive knowledge of Government and Air Force contractual and funding rules, statutory regulations, relationships and administrative procedures involved in developing and procuring construction, depot equipment, services, technical studies, and engineering support. 5. Project management knowledge and experience, from concept to completion, for a broad range of facility and industrial projects. 6. Knowledge of analytical and evaluative methods and procedures and skill in evaluating site, facility systems, and industrial process to record and develop comprehensive plans, estimates, and options to ensure continued facility integrity. Additional Position Requirements: 1. An engineering degree at the bachelor's level from an institution with an ABET accredited program in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field is highly desired. 2. Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft. 3. The work may require the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid driver's license may be required for the position. 4. The work requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
