The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a Full-Time Engineering Technician - Machining/Tooling, NJ-0802-04, to work at the Air Force Materiel Command, (AFMC) in the Air Force Sustainment Center (AFSC) in the Ogden Air Logistics Complex (OO-ALC) with 309 MXSG at HILL AIR FORCE BASE located in LAYTON, UT. 2026 Salary Range: ($89,508-$137,370) / Yearly with locality

The primary purpose of this position is Serves as a subject matter expert in aircraft component overhaul in repair in machining, grinding or metal build operations. Provides technical engineering assistance to include: review of technical data, development of process orders and technical sheets, design and validation of fixtures, tools, processes and equipment.

- Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical (if applicable)
- The employee may be required to work extended or other than normal duty hours to include overtime, and/or days, swings, or owl shifts.
- The employee may be required to work during base exercises, contingencies or emergency situations.
- The employee may occasionally travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft IAW Joint Travel Regulations to other government installations, contractor facilities, or other commercial Locations for both training and mission accomplishment.
Recruitment Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
1. Knowledge of a wide range of maintenance concepts, principles, and practices pertaining to aircraft overhaul processes; and knowledge of process tools and concepts.
2. Knowledge of required security and safety regulations, practices, and procedures.
3. Skill in providing technical advice in terms of oral and written briefings, reports, and recommendations to senior leadership and maintenance technicians; and the development of interpersonal relationships, maintaining good working relationships and working cooperatively as a member of a team.
4. Skill in analyzing and interpreting engineering drawings, technical manuals, and technical data; and identifying, analyzing complex technical problems, and developing innovative solutions.
5. Ability to plan, organize, and re-prioritize work to meet changing deadlines; and to develop and/or conduct training to ensure proper maintenance of assigned systems/equipment; and communicate well both orally and in writing.
6. Demonstrate ability to assure that the work of an assigned team is carried out by performing a range of coordinating and supportive duties and responsibilities. Skillful in utilizing a variety of coordinating, coaching, facilitating, consensus-building, and planning techniques. Experienced in work methods and knowledge, skills and abilities that act as alternatives to traditional supervision, enabling the team as a whole to deliver improved quality, quantity and timely services and/or work products to their customers.
