Full Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:

Performs a wide variety of complex technical tasks to assist design engineering with applied research, design, development, and testing of high voltage, high power products. Developing skills in research techniques to analyze and validate design or theory concepts.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work independently from electrical schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans.
• Assemble and test electrical components and assemblies as well as mechanical assemblies.
• Work safely with high voltage components in excess of 100V with large energy storage.
• Possesses advanced knowledge of circuitry and troubleshooting that could be moderate to complex in nature.
• Assist Development Engineers in diagnosing issues with design, field performance, reliability and test yields of products and recommends/implements corrective actions to address
• Ability to fault find down to component level and contribute towards design development improvements.
• Uses specifications, drawings, schematics, and verbal/written instructions to test and troubleshoot units.
• Maintains fixturing, performs calibration, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenance.
• Responsible to support Engineering efforts in the design and analysis of systems, products, and subsystems/circuits to specification, cost, budget, schedule, and quality goals.
• Responsible for supporting Engineering efforts related to various programs or projects and the corresponding administrative documentation and paperwork.
• Performs an integral role on Product Design teams to drive designs that meet all cost and quality goals. Reviews product requirements with design staff to ensure compatibility of processing methods.
• Supports Design for Manufacturability analysis.
• Communicate openly and effectively in a professional manner and works under limited supervision.
• Ensures a safe working environment for team; resolves or escalates potential hazards.
• Other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• Location: Onsite in Fort Collins, CO
• Works in a standard office environment utilizing standard office equipment, a noisy fast-paced lab, and/or clean room. Occasional travel may be required to remote sites, customers and vendors

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Electro-mechanical problem solving ability.
• Able to operate a variety of electrical test instrumentation including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, volt meter
• Read and understand schematics, assembly documents and technical specifications
• Manual soldering skills including RoHS and fine pitch components
• Knowledge of digital, analog, and power circuits
• Computer knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel - must
• Computer knowledge of Altium, Solidworks - plus
• Good verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills

EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum of 10 years of related technical/engineering experience

EDUCATION:
• Essential: High School Degree or equivalent
• Desirable: Associates Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline.

COMPENSATION:

As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $65,000 - $105,000 per year.
