Full Job Description

As an Engineering Technician 4 at MKS Instruments you will partner with Systems and Design Engineering to test and troubleshoot the next generation of RF Plasma generators. In this role, you will report to one of the Systems Engineering Managers.

You Will Make an Impact By:
Hiring Manager to use principal responsibilities from above job profile job description to fill out bullet points below. • Test, calibrate, and troubleshoot new RF generator designs

• Test and troubleshoot new PCBAs to validate performance
• Conduct failure analysis on returned units, determine what is failed and make observations or measurements to identify root cause

• Build test setups for specialized experiments
• Travel Requirements: This position does not typically travel, but some customer support opportunities may occur.

Skills You Bring:

• Requires an Associate degree or equivalent technician experience
• Minimum of 4+ years of related experience

• Experience using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and other electrical / RF instruments
• Experience using schematics to troubleshoot PCBA problems

Preferred Skills: (Optional)
• Use of computers to drive tests or collect data

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Use of LTSpice or other circuit simulation tools
• PCBA soldering / rework

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

• Occasionally moves/positions objects up to 35 pounds
• Ability to remain in a stationary position for 75% of the time
• Frequently positions self to perform tasks and positions objects below, at, and above shoulder level
• Regularly requires manual dexterity and coordination of objects below, at and above shoulder level
• Must be able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand
• Must be able to exchange accurate information

Compensation and Benefits:

Pay Range: $30.48 - 50.80/hr is range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law. At MKS, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.
