Job Summary

Provide support to NGG in the development and implementation of major departmental or plant wide projects, including functional requirements, training, use of technology, budget, and management of consulting resources.

Job Description

What You'll Do:
  • Develop functional requirements for all major projects and obtain resource needs for project development and implementation, including outside services, if needed.
  • Evaluate existing and new technologies and systems needed; develop and manage project budgets including both O&M and Capital.
  • Develop project plans, including schedules, resource requirements, milestones, and performance indicators.
  • Develop and manage processes to ensure projects include all work required including study, design and implementation phases.
  • Provide timely reports to senior management and the station on the status of each project and progress on project goals.
  • Manage project close-out upon completion, including an analysis of the project's success in meeting station goals.
  • Develop and Manage project budget of significant cost, high risk and significant stakeholder visibility.
  • Implement station goals and objectives, maintain engineering projects performance indicators and participate as NGG representative in corporate sponsored initiatives related to projects.


What We're Looking For:

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related technical field
  • Or equivalent education and/or experience.
  • Special skills directly related to the area of the assigned project may be required, as necessary.
  • Experience managing construction projects is preferred.


Work Experience:
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in a commercial nuclear power plant with demonstrated ability in project management or equivalent.
  • Ability to write clear, concise reports and to make professional presentations to senior management.
  • Strong ability to direct and motivate a diverse, matrix workforce.


Required License/Certification:
  • Project management certification is preferred.


Other Requirements:
  • Support and participate in the Emergency Response Organization, and Corrective Action Program activities as assigned, and in accordance with procedures and policies applicable for the assigned role.
  • Perform all duties and work with other employees in a safe manner, in compliance with appropriate company policies and rules.
  • Assume responsibility for continuously upgrading knowledge and skill.
  • Manage, implement and adhere to all radiological control work practices and contamination control program requirements, including identification and correction of improper contamination control practices, and tracking and trending data to identify recurring problems in order to implement corrective action.
  • Prepare and administer budget plans to manage and control expenses within the established guidelines.
  • Perform duties that may involve work in hazardous areas and possible radiation exposure within the limits prescribed by the NRC.


Must establish and maintain a permanent residence within a 45-minute safe drive time to the D.C. Cook Nuclear Power Plant.
