About the TeamThe Tax Platform team builds and operates the real-time tax calculation engine that powers every transaction at DoorDash - from customer orders to subscriptions, merchant fees, ads, etc. As a tier-0 service calculating tax on every cart and order across all business lines and verticals, the Tax Platform is critical to DoorDash's reliability and compliance with complex, ever-evolving tax regulations across all jurisdictions. We partner closely with Strategy & Ops, Tax, Finance, Legal, and various Product teams to ensure accurate tax calculation, reporting, and remittance at scale.
About the RoleDoorDash is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the Tax Platform engineering team. You will own the vision, roadmap, and execution for one of DoorDash's most critical product platforms - a tier-0 service that touches every transaction across DoorDash's global business. You will tackle complex technical challenges at the intersection of distributed systems, regulatory compliance, and financial accuracy, while building a high-performing engineering team. You must be located in Toronto, Canada for this hybrid position.

We're excited about you because...- You have 8+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in an engineering management role leading product or platform teams.
- You have a track record of building and operating high-scale, high-reliability distributed systems - you understand what it takes to keep a tier-0 service running.
- You bring strong technical judgment and can balance system reliability, developer velocity, and product needs effectively.
- You are passionate about growing engineers and building inclusive, collaborative teams that deliver consistently.
- You thrive in ambiguity and can drive clarity across complex, cross-functional problem spaces involving engineering, finance, legal, product and business stakeholders.
CompensationActual compensation within the pay range listed below will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location. Base salary is localized according to employee work location.

The base pay for this position ranges from our lowest geographical market up to our highest geographical market within British Columbia.
