Job DescriptionThe Engineering Manager at Syntegon is a high-impact leadership position tasked with driving innovation in automated packaging for the demanding food and pharmaceutical sectors. You will lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of software and electrical engineers, balancing technical oversight with a focus on process excellence and product guidance. Operating in a fast-paced, "team-centric" environment, the role requires a self-motivated leader who can translate complex customer needs into sophisticated, high-speed technical solutions while fostering a culture of independence and empowerment.
Key Responsibilities- People Leadership: Mentoring a team of engineers through S.M.A.R.T. goals, fostering a culture of accountability and empathy, and managing resource scheduling to meet customer demands.
- Strategic Growth: Driving continuous process improvements to increase efficiency and representing the site's technical interests within global business teams to shape the automation portfolio.
- Technical Governance: Acting as the guardian of engineering standards, revision control, and compliance, while ensuring technical knowledge is preserved through robust training programs.
- Cross-Functional Support: Serving as the technical bridge between engineering and other departments like sales, purchasing, and assembly to ensure seamless project execution.
QualificationsBasic Requirements - Must have a minimum of 5+ years of experience in automated packaging or similar capital equipment
- Must possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology.
- Must have at least 8+ years of work experience in an Engineering discipline.
- Must have a minimum of 4+ years of experience supervising or managing a team of engineers.
Preferred Qualifications- Technical experience with automating packaging or similar systems as a Controls or Software Engineer.
- Experience supervising highly technical employees.
- Master's degree in engineering or MBA a plus.
- Excellent leadership, decision making, and communication skills.
- Strong team orientated, along with strong organizational and time management skills, analytical and problem solving skills.
- Lean/Six Sigma experience with strong process/workflow design skills.
- Proven performance in similar role.
Additional InformationThe anticipated starting annual salary for this position is $130,000
Compensation for roles at Syntegon varies depending on a wide array of non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, degree/credentials, relevant skill set, and level of relevant experience.
