As an Engineering Manager at Regard, you will manage, lead, and grow squads of Software Engineers. You will play a core role, collaborating across engineering and product to lead the development of key features within our provider-facing product. You will be responsible for setting strategic vision, prioritization decisions, technical execution, and team leadership. You'll play a key role in exploring and integrating generative AI to unlock new capabilities and elevate the user experience across our platform. This role will report directly to our CTO.
Responsibilities:- Manage and support squads of AI-empowered engineers through coaching, feedback, and career development
- Lead development and delivery of product features, collaborating closely with product and design partners to drive user satisfaction and product adoption
- Drive technical decisions and contribute to system design, balancing long-term scalability with near-term delivery
- Support the team in maintaining production reliability and performance, including participation in on-call rotations
- Contribute to the codebase when needed to unblock the team or gain hands-on understanding of technical challenges
- Drive execution of complex technical projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business goals
- Collaborate with stakeholders across engineering, product, and clinical subject matter experts to ensure smooth coordination and communication
Minimum Qualifications:- BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
- 6+ years of software engineering experience (primarily Backend or Full-stack), and 2+ years spent leading teams of 5 or more developers
- Demonstrated proficiency with Python, Go and/or Typescript
- Experience with AI coding tools and AI agents
- Proficiency with cloud infrastructure and services (e.g., AWS)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and observability tools (e.g., GitHub/GitLab, ArgoCD, Datadog, Sentry)
- Experience working in a dynamic startup and/or high-growth environments
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience working in enterprise SaaS environment, or health tech
Hybrid Work | Location | Work Authorization- For this role, Regard is currently only considering candidates who are authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship, and are within the New York City metropolitan area
- Our expectation for this role is to be in the office 3 days per week. We also require more frequent in-office work during the onboarding period and team onsite weeks up to once per month
