This role is responsible for building high-performing React Native applications, optimizing them for complex operational environments, and ensuring secure, reliable deployment across large fleets of field devices.
A critical component of this role includes partnering with external vendors to ensure seamless integration, certification, deployment, and ongoing support of third-party applications on Honeywell and other enterprise hardware. You will play a key role in shaping Signature Aviation's mobile engineering strategy, enabling field operations, and delivering scalable, secure mobile solutions across the enterprise.

Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Technical Oversight
  • Lead, mentor, and develop mobile engineering teams delivering applications primarily in React Native.
  • Drive day-to-day engineering execution across multiple Agile teams, ensuring high-quality design, implementation, and delivery.
  • Promote strong engineering practices, including clean architecture, modular design, automation, secure coding, and code quality standards.

Mobile Platform Delivery & Device Optimization
  • Oversee the delivery and optimization of mobile applications across:
    • Honeywell rugged handhelds (e.g., CT40, CT60, EDA series)
    • iOS and Android smartphones
    • Tablets supporting operational workflows
  • Ensure applications are optimized for performance, offline functionality, barcode scanning, RFID, and other rugged device capabilities.
  • Lead improvements to deployment processes, including OTA updates, version control, compliance, and large-scale device fleet management.

Vendor Partnership & Third-Party Application Management
  • Serve as the primary engineering point of contact for third-party mobile vendors.
  • Coordinate deployment, testing, configuration, certification, and lifecycle management of vendor-provided applications on enterprise devices.
  • Validate technical compatibility, performance, and security of vendor solutions prior to rollout.
  • Manage shared technical roadmaps, SLAs, and issue resolution with vendor engineering teams.
  • Oversee enterprise mobile app onboarding, including packaging, MDM/EMM deployment, and update strategies.

Architecture, Integrations & Technical Governance
  • Partner closely with Solution Architects to design and maintain secure, scalable, and maintainable mobile architectures.
  • Guide engineering teams on integrations with enterprise systems, including:
    • Scheduling systems (e.g., UKG)
    • HR platforms
    • Reservation and Order Management Systems
    • CRM and pricing engines
    • Event messaging and notification platforms
    • POS systems
  • Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards, integration patterns, and governance guidelines.

Agile Delivery & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Product Managers to translate business needs into technical plans and executable engineering work.
  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers to deliver intuitive, device-optimized mobile experiences.
  • Lead technical grooming, backlog refinement, sprint planning, milestone tracking, and release coordination.
  • Work closely with QA to define and execute comprehensive testing strategies across devices, platforms, and environments.

Quality, Security & Continuous Improvement
  • Maintain high engineering standards through code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and device-level validation.
  • Ensure all mobile releases meet security, compliance, and performance requirements.
  • Continuously improve engineering processes, deployment practices, and device management capabilities.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and/or Experience:
  • 8+ years of mobile engineering experience, including significant hands-on React Native development.

  • Comfort operating in Agile/Scrum environments using tools such as Jira, Confluence, GitHub, and Figma.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and prioritization skills in fast-paced environments.

Additional knowledge and skills:
  • Experience in aviation, hospitality, transportation, logistics, or other operationally complex industries.
