Job DescriptionPay Range: $113,000 - $140,000 depending on relevant experience and qualifications
The Engineering Manager is responsible for the Manufacturing Engineering team, ensuring key projects and duties are fulfilled. You will be leading and assisting the Engineering team with projects & problem solving, and providing technical advice. You will also work with other departments to ensure the Engineering team is providing the services required and meeting expectations. Reporting on departmental and project progress, as well as providing project and budgetary recommendations are additional key aspects of this role.
Responsibilities - Enhancing assembly line flow, increasing throughput, and reducing cycle times using data analysis
- Guide scalable transitions from prototype design phases into full-scale production
- Propose project budgetary requirements
- Train new Engineering team members
- Specify, select, purchase, and commission heavy machinery, jigs, and fixtures
- Manage departmental capital expenditures, operating budgets, and cost targets
- Collaborate with Product Management, Quality control, and Manufacturing on project priorities
- Maintain quality standards, root-cause defect analysis, and product traceability compliance
- Investigate designs to maximize product manufacturability, profitability, and durability
- Work with other Engineers and Manufacturing team members to continuously improve manufacturability and processes
- Prioritize workload to ensure that deliverables are completed in timelines that meet customer expectations
- Maintain an individual project schedule to maximize task efficiency, prioritization, and communication
- Adhere to existing and assist in continuous improvement of WAO engineering standards
Qualifications- B.S. Degree in Industrial Engineering (or related field) with greater than 15 years' experience
- 5+ years' experience in an Engineering Management role
- Experience in Manufacturing Engineering required
- Proficient using 3D computer aided drafting/design software, SolidWorks 3D experience required
- Fluent in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Practical knowledge of process improvement tools: Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, Value Stream Mapping, Five S, etc.
- Strong mechanical analysis, problem-solving, concept modeling, and mathematical skills
- Knowledge of WAO products or other fenestration related industry is a plus, but not required
- Strong passion, high energy, and enthusiasm for growth
- Strong time management, organizational skills, and ability to set priorities for multiple tasks
- High level of customer focus both internally and external
- Ability to effectively communicate in written or verbal manner with individuals from all areas of the organization
- Ability to work in a production environment, if required
- Ability to work flexible hours and/or travel depending on the needs of the department and/or business
