Managed Credentials solves one of the most important problems our enterprise customers face: governing the full lifecycle of company-controlled credentials. The team is building this natively into 1Password's Enterprise Password Manager, giving security and compliance teams the discovery, governance, and remediation capabilities they require, with full auditability and access control. We're looking for an Engineering Manager to guide this high-visibility product through launch and into maturity, delivering the governance capabilities that drive enterprise adoption and retention, while also supporting the team's ongoing work on our Managed Service Provider (MSP) offering.
How we're using AI todayOur Engineering, Product, and Design teams are thoughtfully integrating AI across the full software and product development lifecycle to move faster without sacrificing quality or security. In practice, that looks like engineers using AI-assisted coding tools to accelerate reviews and catch bugs earlier, product managers synthesizing user research at scale, and designers rapidly prototyping and iterating with AI-generated mockups. We approach AI the same way we approach security: with clear principles, human accountability at every consequential decision point, and rigorous evaluation before anything ships to customers.
This is a remote opportunity within Canada and the US.
What we're looking for:- Several years of experience managing a team of engineers

- Capable of driving the delivery of projects, and creating roadmaps for future work.
- You have helped a team scale both themselves and the services they are responsible for.
- Experience managing a remote team.
What you can expect:- Help set and support strategic direction for the team, spanning both Managed Credentials and our Managed Service Provider (MSP) offering.
- Drive alignment and be responsible for the results of the team in support of broader company objectives.
- Collaborate with senior individual contributors to create an engaging technical vision for your team
- Work with cross-functional partners to define the best solutions for our customers, both internal and external.
- Work to scope and plan key deliverables for projects and initiatives with the team.
- Drive execution with an emphasis on iterations and deliverables, quality, velocity, and communication.
- Provide technical leadership to developers both in your team and across the engineering organization.
- Coach individual contributors to help them reach their full potential.
- Recruit and retain top tier talent in a fast growing environment.
- Continue scaling a highly specialized engineering team by working with a team of Engineering Managers to continuously refine hiring, onboarding, and development processes.
