Full Job Description
Overview

The Low Latency Platform and Realtime Technology teams build and maintain the core infrastructure that powers GTS’s electronic trading systems. Our software is responsible for the reliable movement, processing, and distribution of market data and trading events across a globally distributed, high-performance environment where latency, throughput, and resiliency are critical.

As an Engineering Manager, your primary responsibility is enabling engineers and teams to operate effectively. You will partner closely with senior engineers and system owners to ensure work is prioritized appropriately, execution remains predictable, and engineers have the support they need to succeed. This role is focused on people leadership, delivery coordination, hiring, and organizational effectiveness rather than direct ownership of architecture or technical direction.

The ideal candidate has a strong engineering background and is capable of understanding complex technical systems, but measures success through team outcomes rather than individual technical contributions. You should enjoy building high-performing teams, helping engineers grow in their careers, removing organizational friction, and creating an environment where engineers can focus on solving difficult problems.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and support a team of software engineers working on low-latency and real-time trading infrastructure
  • Drive delivery coordination, planning, prioritization, and execution across multiple concurrent initiatives
  • Remove blockers and organizational friction that prevent engineers from being effective
  • Partner with technical leaders and system owners to ensure ownership, priorities, and expectations are clear
  • Conduct performance reviews, provide regular feedback, and support career growth and development
  • Recruit, interview, hire, and onboard high-performing engineers
  • Foster a healthy, collaborative, and accountable engineering culture
  • Facilitate communication between engineering, trading, infrastructure, and business stakeholders
  • Identify delivery risks early and coordinate appropriate mitigation strategies
Qualifications
  • Significant professional experience building production software systems, including experience in C++-based environments
  • Previous experience leading engineering teams, technical projects, or engineering organizations
  • Demonstrated success hiring, mentoring, and developing engineers
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to translate effectively between technical and business audiences
  • Strong organizational skills and experience coordinating complex technical initiatives
  • Ability to establish trust and credibility with senior engineers and technical leaders
  • Strong judgment, empathy, and conflict resolution skills

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in electronic trading, market data, or financial systems
  • Experience operating in high-availability or mission-critical production environments
  • Experience scaling engineering teams and delivery processes in rapidly evolving organizations
