The RoleONYX Insight is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the safe, efficient and high-quality deployment of electronic hardware across customers' wind turbine fleets in North America.
This hands-on leadership role combines people management, project delivery and technical oversight, working closely with customers, Sales, engineering teams, subcontractors, vendors and Safety.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and develop a team of 3-5 field-facing engineers, managing workload, coaching, performance and career development.
- Oversee deployment projects from handover to completion, delivering against agreed scope, schedule, quality and budget.
- Manage project planning, documentation, QA/QC, reporting, resources and risk.
- Act as the escalation point for field engineering and customer issues, coordinating effective technical resolution.
- Review deployment scope estimates and project costs and support Sales in customer and technical discussions.
- Manage relationships and performance across subcontractors, suppliers and service providers.
- Champion safe field operations, including risk assessments, PPE compliance, and field team training and onboarding.
- Provide technical support for ONYX sensing hardware and inspection technologies, using customer feedback to drive improvement.
Required Experience- Experience delivering remote device installation programs at scale in complex environments.
- Experience managing field teams, subcontractors, vendors or field service providers.
- People management, supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Knowledge of QA/QC and deployment quality management.
- Strong project management, stakeholder management and communication skills.
- A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
Preferred Experience- Wind farm and up-tower experience, together with knowledge of condition monitoring, turbine reliability, sensing, inspection or monitoring technologies.
Physical Requirements- Able to climb wind turbine towers and work at height using appropriate PPE and fall protection.
- Able to undertake site visits in varying weather and field conditions.
- Approximately 25% domestic travel, with occasional international travel.
Salary range: $110,000-$155,000
Compensation is based on location, experience and internal equity. Hiring at or near the top of the range is not typical.
