Job Title: Engineering Manager

Worksite Location: 353 Sacramento St, Suite 1300, San Francisco CA 94111

Job Description:
  1. Direct and supervise every stage of the software development lifecycle by applying expertise in leading diverse engineering integration projects including strategic planning, architecture, estimation, coding, and quality assurance, while establishing engineering roadmaps and technical benchmarks to ensure high-quality delivery throughout design, deployment, and ongoing system support.
  2. Lead high-level collaborations with product owners, designers, operations, and executive stakeholders to direct cross-functional technical strategies that align Engineering and Product objectives for enterprise client requirements like platform scalability, robust system architecture, and reduce customer onboarding friction by building bespoke integration solutions.
  3. Translate complex business objectives into multi-year product roadmaps, oversee the integrations ecosystem and ensure market requirements are captured as detailed technical specifications and multi-quarter engineering strategies.
  4. Orchestrate the architectural vision and technical recruitment strategy to scale the Data Sharing engineering function and manage complex resource allocation plans, aligning specialized engineering talent with the product roadmap.
  5. Establish and enforce rigorous engineering standards for code quality, scalability, and security across the organization by leveraging experience in building web-scale and enterprise-grade systems.
  6. Lead the adoption of best practices in distributed systems, conducting technical code reviews, and ensuring that all engineering output meets the high-availability and security requirements of a global SaaS platform.
  7. Direct the system design and evolution of complex, distributed, service-oriented backend systems, leveraging deep expertise in Python and the Django framework to ensure the delivery of scalable, secure, and modular services.
  8. Oversee the design and evolution of complex database architectures, utilize advanced SQL principles to ensure organizational data integrity and security compliance, optimize database schemas for high-concurrency API throughput, and manage data persistence strategies for the Integrations ecosystem.
  9. Direct the mentoring and coaching of engineering staff to foster technical excellence and oversee the design of systems involving REST and Bulk API protocols to architect solutions for seamless data synchronization and high-performance data integrity across enterprise SaaS environments.
  10. Formulate comprehensive engineering, onboarding frameworks, and standardized technical training programs to ensure consistent adherence to security protocols and architectural best practices across the organization.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's (or foreign educ. equiv.) Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field plus five (5) years (post degree, progressive) experience in the job offered or related occupation

Special Skill Requirements:
  1. Participating in peer code reviews & actively contributing towards improving code quality.
  2. Leading various integrations related engineering projects which involve planning, architectural design, work estimation, development and testing.
  3. Executing delivery & rollout plans in coordination with various stakeholders like Product Manager, QA and other engineering teams.
  4. Mentoring and coaching junior developers.
  5. Experience in building web-scale and/or enterprise-grade systems in different environments.
  6. Experience with mainstream languages like C++, and Python.
  7. Experience with databases systems, including SQL.
  8. Defining multi-year product roadmap for the integrations ecosystem, synthesizing market requirements into technical specifications.
  9. Formulating a comprehensive engineering onboarding framework, standardizing technical training for engineers to ensure consistent adherence to security protocols and architectural best practices.
  10. Leveraging technical expertise in REST, SOAP, and Bulk API protocols to architect seamless data synchronization between disparate enterprise systems, ensuring robust security and data integrity.
  11. Directing cross-functional technical strategy between engineering and product stakeholders to align enterprise client requirements with platform scalability, architecting robust, bespoke integration solutions that reduce client onboarding friction.
  12. Applying advanced principles of Python and Django framework including Django REST Framework to develop secure, scalable, and modular backend architectures.

Base Salary: $289,182.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F.
