The OpportunityAdobe Document Cloud's AI organization is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the team behind our Generative AI frameworks and developer productivity systems.. This team builds the frameworks, tooling, and delivery infrastructure that AI squads across Document Cloud depend on. You will set standard practices and collaborate across the org to build the momentum and assurance behind shipping features quickly and at scale.
Acrobat's AI features reach hundreds of millions of users and process billions of documents. At the center of how they get built are the frameworks this team owns: the agentic frameworks features run on, the tooling teams build with, and the observability to see how features behave before production. The team also leads the wider org in maturing its CI/CD and release practices.
The bar is mature software engineering craft: clean abstractions, well-designed interfaces, and systems developers want to adopt. The job runs on influence, building tools good enough that teams adopt them by choice and getting the leadership on board that makes new ways of working stick.
What you'll Do- Own the Generative AI development frameworks: the agentic frameworks, tooling, and observability teams rely on to build and ship. Set the technical direction and hold a high bar for clean abstractions and interfaces.
- Own your team's delivery and roadmap. Set priorities with product and engineering partners, remove blockers, and hold the team to a high production-quality bar.
- Drive the org in assuming responsibility. Guide AI squads to bring rigor and accountability to continuous integration, delivery, and deployment quality. s in their DORA metrics.
- Champion developer experience. Cut onboarding friction and move toward AI-native tooling that lets engineers ship from their own codebase with agents handling the busy work.
- Lead, grow, hire, and develop the team. Provide coaching, direct feedback, and career development, and stretch senior and principal engineers through cross-org ownership.
- Represent the team and build consensus across engineering teams and leadership to move initiatives forward.
What you need to succeed- 6+ years of engineering management experience, with a track record of building and leading platform, developer productivity, infrastructure, or ML platform teams in a fast-paced product environment.
- You have engineered developer-facing frameworks, APIs, or platforms, and hold rigorous standards for abstractions and interfaces. You can assess architectural tradeoffs and the craft that makes a system worth adopting.
- You see building frameworks, setting standards, and multiplying other developers as the rewarding work.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and align across teams you do not manage. You have driven adoption of standards, tools, or operating models org-wide, shaped decisions with directors and senior partners, and navigated competing priorities.
- A product approach toward internal platforms. Engineers are your customers, and you have created tools teams genuinely wanted to use.
- Strong command of observability and telemetry. You know what good instrumentation looks like and hold your team to it.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD for AI/ML systems, including the automated quality gates and testing that let teams ship quickly without regressions. Familiarity with DORA or SPACE metrics.
- A mentor mentality and genuine investment in people. You give direct feedback, build psychological safety, and make others' impact visible.
- B.S., M.Sc., or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science or a related field.
