Req ID 88103 | Gray Court, South Carolina (US-SC), United States ZF Transmissions Gray Court, LLC Job Description *DNP* *CBD* ZF Transmissions Gray Court, LLC has job openings (multiple) for the position of Engineering Lead - Customer Quality based out of its location in Gray Court, SC. Job Duties: Leverage automotive engineering knowledge while working closely with customer representatives and insure that major customer complaints are resolved. Determine root cause of failure from customer transmission returns and lead the quality and problem-solving activities to eliminate impact of non-conforming product in accordance with customer's specified process. Interpret engineering specifications for products to determine performance requirements in order to meet and/or exceed customer expectations. Review manufacturing processes and assess product quality to determine adequacy, capability and comply with customer specifications and company's specifications. Participate in Failure Modes and Effect Analysis (FMEA), Design Validation (DV), Production Validation (PV), and process launch teams. Create and maintain documentation for product/process change management. Assess effectiveness of plant-wide quality systems including training for ongoing improvements. Develop and maintain documents and procedures related to quality standards, risk analysis, lessons learned from product recalls, product audits, field returns and repairs, complaints, scrap, and rework, and retain documented information as evidence. Analyze data to detect quality problems and recommend corrective actions. Conduct and develop preventative programs to reduce defects in major quality control areas. Utilize basic quality tools along with problem solving and lean manufacturing techniques in the support of continuous improvement, root cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions promoting lessons learned process. Initiate, complete, and ensure proper conformity of engineering changes to quality standards. Manage and maintain internal and customer KPI's relevant to customer quality and satisfaction. Improve customer product quality through creation, assigning and management of customer and product conformity audit 8D to completion. A hybrid (in-office and telecommute) work schedule is available. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or closely related field plus 5 years of experience in quality control or quality assurance within a manufacturing environment and demonstrated experience in the following: Maintaining key customer relationships, customer-specific and regulatory requirements, and best practices; OEM Customer Portals in Microsoft Edge online environment; Power BI and Sharepoint to design business reports; Axalant and S-CASE; Simatic IT and SAP for transmission forensic records; 8D's, 3X5 WHY, 5P, and A3; Six Sigma, Shainin, Lean Manufacturing, Ishikawa, Value Stream Mapping, and Failure Tree Analysis; Safe Launch activities for new product platforms; IATF core tools including SPC, D-FMEA, P-FMEA, Control Plans, APQP, PPAP, and MSA; Metal castings, machining and assembly processes for drivetrain technologies, and plastic injection molding; and GD&T..
