Full Job Description
Eaton's Electrical Critical Power Solutions Division is currently seeking an Engineering Lab Manager to join our team. This position is based full-time on site at our Raleigh, NC facility and will require travel to multiple sites within the greater Raleigh area (~5 mile radius).

The expected annual salary range for this role is $113000 - $165000 a year.

Position Overview:
The CPS engineering team is adding 10,000 sq ft of high-power test bay space to support growth in the data center power market over the next two years. The Engineering Lab Manager will lead the design and build out of the test bay space interacting with the CPS engineering team, Eaton project managers, and third-party architects and structural engineers. After commissioning is complete, this person will manage engineering operations for the test facilities in the Raleigh area to support product development and operational goals.

What you'll do:
• Communicate closely with CPS engineering team to understand all critical requirements of test facilities.
• Ensure that the technical requirements are clearly translated into building size, clearance, access, HVAC, power requirements, floor space and other lab specifications.
• Review design and drawings for compliance with usage requirements.
• Harmonize engineering, operations and service team safety protocols and procedures.
• Champion electrical lab safety program and processes.
• Communicate company policies and guidelines and ensure they are consistently practiced and deployed in the labs.
• Plan and oversee procurement and installation of lab equipment. Setup and commission lab.
• Lab equipment storage, tracking and allocation.
• Initiate, develop and manage large capital projects including test and manufacturing equipment, facility enhancements and new product start-ups.
• Manage and develop employees within areas of responsibility to work as a team to accomplish goals as set forth by the company or location.
• Manage activities in the test labs including:

o Maintain test lab equipment, equipment calibration, documentation, and procedures.
o Submit purchase requests for lab equipment and supplies.
o Receive test lab requests and schedule testing.
o Ensure compliance to test lab procedures and MESH requirements of all personnel in the test lab.
o Lead annual UL Data Acceptance Program (DAP) audit and close any Non-Conformities to Requirements (NCRs) received.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in power industry manufacturing or testing of high-power electrical equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Degree (Bachelors or Masters) in Electrical Engineering preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in design and layout of manufacturing or lab spaces for high power electrical equipment.
• Demonstrated experience working with architects, engineering firms and contractors to build high power test facilities.
• Familiarity with National Electrical Code, NFPA 70 and NFPA 855.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Lockout/Tagout requirements and workplace safety standards.
• Familiarity with UL standards UL1778 and UL9540.
• Ability to draw and understand one-line diagram representations of building electrical systems and read blueprints.
• Experience conducting live work activities on energized equipment while adhering to applicable safety procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop teams while fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
