Annual Salary: $90,000 - $120,000

Position

As an Engineering Estimator, you will be responsible for the preparation of cost summaries for all functional departments, application of appropriate overhead costs to direct costs, prepare cost flow data, and respond to what-if type questions related to alternate bid solutions and strategies. Upon award of contract, prepare program budget and any required revisions to submit to the program management team. Conducts post job profitability review and prepare post-job program profitability report and initiate job review with leadership.

The Engineering Estimator will:
  • Develop conceptualize cost for new product development, for Design to Build programs, by working with design team to develop product from minimum detailed information
  • Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimate for products, projects, and/or services
  • Review data to determine material and labor requirements and prepare itemized lists
  • Conduct special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or effect cost reductions. Develop industrialization strategy
  • Consult with clients, purchasing, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues
  • Complete capital expenditure (CapEx) models for evaluating projects


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Analytical skills to compute and factor data to prepare estimates used for management purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work, preparing bids, selecting vendors and/or contractors, and determining cost effectiveness
  • Ability to conduct special studies for the purpose of developing and establishing standard hour and related cost data or effect cost reduction
  • Consultation skills to interact with clients, vendors, and other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues
  • Reasoning to solve practical problems and deal with variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists

Preferred Experience:

1+ year in a similar role

Experience with 3-D CAD software (i.e., CATIA, Inventor), to develop material usage and labor requirements, from digitally designed products

Education:

Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar preferred

Pay

SEKISUI Aerospace is required by Washington law to include the salary range for this role when hiring a Washington resident. Pay ranges may be higher or lower for non-resident WA employees, based on the market data for their region, allowing us to pay employees competitively in different geographic markets.
