About the Role:
Join TAI, as our Business Development Manager in Northern Virginia. You will serve as the strategic engine driving our expansion within the high-stakes Government, Mission Critical, and Science & Tech sectors. This role is central to our mission, tasking you with identifying and securing large-scale engineering facility design opportunities by connecting our integrated technical expertise with the region's most innovative developers and defense partners. You will navigate the full project lifecycle; from monitoring capital investment plans to leading collaborative pursuit strategies, acting as a vital bridge between TAI's multi-disciplinary capabilities and the complex infrastructure needs of our clients.

Here's a glimpse into your day to day:
  • Research, identify, qualify, track, and secure facility design and engineering opportunities across targeted market sectors; including defense contractors, data centers, mission-critical infrastructure, and pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and life sciences facilities.
  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective facility design projects by monitoring market activity, capital programs, and client investment plans.
  • Engage with owners, developers, architects, contractors, and other strategic partners to position the firm for upcoming design and engineering opportunities.
  • Lead or support pursuit activities, including opportunity tracking, capture planning, proposal coordination, and client presentations, to successfully win new work.
  • Maintain accurate opportunity data within CRM and pursuit tracking systems to support forecasting, reporting, and strategic decision-making
  • Foster existing relationships and establish new business partnerships with prospective clients in the capital region.
  • Coordinate and participate in conventions, conferences, and trade shows.
  • Create and monitor documented sales processes for various projects and sales opportunities.
  • Lead and/or support proposal development by assisting with scope development, cost estimating and execution plan coordination.
  • Communicate client needs throughout all project lifecycle phases.
  • Provide input on organization branding materials, media content, and supplemental proposal information (bios, project references, project profiles)
  • Coordinate marketing needs with TAI's marketing team.

You'll be a perfect fit if you have:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the field of technical sales preferably within the A/E/C industry.
  • Proven record of success in Business-to-Business sales.
  • Ability to multi-task, work well under pressure, and meet/exceed set goals.
  • Highly self-motivated and driven to business growth and revenue goals.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of engineering, design, and construction practices, or possesses the ability to learn high-level technical concepts.
  • Possess knowledge of generally accepted business practices and commercial concepts.
  • Ability to independently discuss relevant technical concepts with clients.
  • Effectively works with individuals at various levels of an organization, of diverse backgrounds in site or office settings.
  • Ability to develop and maintain rapport with clients and partners.
  • Persistent, persuasive with excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Willing to travel locally up to 50% of the time.
