Full Job Description
Engineering and Construction Manager Position Responsibilities: The primary responsibility of this role is to direct, coordinate and complete projects, at current and future sites, from engineering through construction, with successful turnover to operations. This position reports to the Senior Vice President U.S. Operations. Specific responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the following:
• Manages and coordinates all aspects of the engineering and construction of mining projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
• Manages and coordinates project development and execution with contractors and consultants.
• Determines project development and execution strategies such as contracting plan, material management plan and integrated project schedule.
• Coordinates preparation and delivery of design documents, calculation briefs, bid packages, prepares SOPs and manages project records.
• Prepares bid/request documents, addendums and change orders for procurement phase.
• Coordinates review and input from subject matter experts (e.g., operations, geology, technical services, environment and safety).
• Tracks and reports the deployment of capital for projects development and execution.
• Manages and forecasts project costs including cost accountability.
• Ensures projects comply with local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
• Ensures the project adheres to best practice standards, including safety and ergonomics, applicable code and industry standards.
• Ensures projects comply with all applicable company standards.
• Ensures successful project management principles are deployed from project kickoff through closure.
• Supervises oversees contractors and consultants for assigned projects.
• Supervises members of UEC's construction team.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management or a related field and relevant technical and commercial experience with demonstrated leadership.
• Engineer in training certificate or professional engineering license preferred.
• Should be fluent in Microsoft Office and familiar with typical project management software, AutoCAD and/or GIS.
• Must have demonstrated experience in project management delivering on the full life cycle on Mining and Processing projects.
• 4 or more years of experience in Project Management, strongly preferred.
• Previous mine site experience would be advantageous.
• Must be willing to work at the mine site as well as work in the office.
