Job Responsibilities:

As a Warranty Analysis Engineer, you will lead comprehensive, root cause investigations for field-returned components. You will evaluate part behavior through bench testing and board level investigations to identify failure modes, working directly with hardware and software teams for support. This role is part of the Radar Regional Divisional Warranty Center, located in Lowell, Massachusetts, and reports directly to the Radar Hardware Manager. You will collaborate closely with local hardware and software engineers to drive accurate diagnostics and support continuous product improvement, while additionally working with local quality engineers to support timely customer reporting and 8Ds.

Your Responsibilities

  • Perform root cause analysis by testing at bench and board level, understanding and verifying the reported customer behavior, and identifying potential causes from our product to trigger it.
    • Product level performance testing and/or diagnostics as well as low level board testing
    • Component debug and swaps (QFNs, BGAs, etc..)
    • Mechanical evaluations such as water leak testing and weld integrity
  • Follow up with hardware and software teams once a root cause is identified to support product improvements
  • Report analysis steps on warranty management tool.
  • Collaborate with Quality Engineers to ensure 8D documentation and timely customer responses throughout investigation


Who we are looking for

Education
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or above


Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive electronics warranty analysis or related field with knowledge of North American, European, or Asian OEM warranty processes, systems, and tools.
  • Demonstrated experience applying structured problem-solving methodologies to complex automotive electronic systems.
  • Hands-on experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, CAN tools, or data acquisition systems.
  • Experience with soldering and IC swapping
  • Experience or certifications in IPC-7711/21 and IPC-A-610
  • Experience working in a cross-functional environment with hardware, software, and product engineering teams.
  • Experience documenting findings and tracking investigations within issue management systems.
  • Strong track record of identifying and reducing NTF conditions through systematic investigation and continuous improvement efforts.

  • Experience with scripting and lab tool automation
  • Cross functional experience in manufacturing or R&D (Product Engineering areas), including systems testing
  • Knowledge of radar systems and radar testing methods
