Job DescriptionResponsibilities Include:- Conceive, Design, and analyze motor components for compliance to stated requirements.
- Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) of new and existing designs to determine strength, temperature, and reliability characteristics.
- Work with Project Manager and cross-functional teams to understand project goals, objectives, and to work toward meeting stated deliverables and schedule deadlines.
- Create new component and assembly drawings per established Standards and Guidelines.
- Create additional product specifications (e.g., manufacturing instructions, test procedures, material specs).
- Utilize New Model and ECO process to create new BOM's and revise established designs.
- Work with procurement to obtain quotes and qualify suppliers, and to approve components per the FPA process.
- Prepare reports and presentations for customers both internal/external.
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:- BS Mechanical Engineering, MS Preferred
- 2D/3D CAD (Pro/Engineer preferred, Solid Edge a plus)
- Finite Element Analysis (FEA), utilizing Ansys (preferred) or similar software
Mechanical Stress and Fatigue
Fluid Dynamics
Heat Transfer
Rotor Dynamics - Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
