Responsibilities

  • Maintain an updated list of calibrated equipment in Rolling Meadows.
  • Manage the calibration information using the NG TEAMMS system.
  • Support the sanitization of equipment for transport from secure labs.
  • Coordinate shipping of equipment to calibration departments and vendors.
  • Facilitate transportation plans for sanitized equipment and track movements during calibration.

The Mission and Payload Programs organization within the Northrop Grumman Space Systems pushes the boundaries of innovation, redefines engineering capabilities, and drives advances in various sciences. Candidates may be hired as a Engineer Systems Test (level 2) or a Principle Engineer Systems Test (level 3) based on their qualifications. This position is part of our Space Sector Eastern Region SEIT Engineering Organization located at Rolling Meadows, IL.

Your roles and responsibilities will include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Synthesizes customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledges technical, schedule and cost constraints.
  • Develops and directs preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures and schedules for completing systems.
  • Coordinates integrated testing activities. Reviews and evaluates test requirements to insure completeness of test program. Performs technical analysis of complete systems and prepares comprehensive system level evaluations.
  • Actively maintain active list of calibrated equipment at Rolling Meadows
  • Updating calibration information using NG system of record; TEAMMS
  • Support sanitizing equipment for egress from closed area labs
  • Coordinate and arrange shipping to internal calibration departments and/or test equipment vendor sites
  • Work with program security to generate transportation plans of sanitized equipment due for calibration
  • Work with Govt property to track egress and ingress of equipment during calibration and other special test events
  • Support up to 25% travel


Basic Qualifications:
Engineer Systems Test: Bachelors Degree and 4 years of related experience; or a Master's Degree.
Principal Engineer Systems Test: Bachelors Degree and 5 years of related experience; a Master's Degree and 2 years of related experience; or a PhD.
Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI approval/access.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Demonstrated history of strong organization and coordination skills (working with cross-functional teams).
• Previous experience with material/test equipment management.
• Previous experience with integration and test activities for space hardware.
• Integration and test experience; familiarity with signal generators and spectral analyzers
Active TS/SCI with adjudicated polygraph is preferred

Primary Level Salary Range: $79,600.00 - $119,400.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $98,900.00 - $148,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
