Overview

Who we're looking for

Toyota's Plant Engineering Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Engineer.

The primary responsibility of this role is to manage facility-related projects (expansions, renovations, facility equipment renewals, etc.) at Toyota Indiana (TMMI).

Reporting to the Manager - Plant Engineering, the person in this role will support the Facilities department's objective to provide project management, construction oversight, and building design to ensure projects are designed and built to quality, cost, schedule, and safety KPIs.

What you'll be doing

  • Offering technical support to projects at TMMI in the areas of building design and construction, including development and maintaining building related standards.
  • Developing criteria (architectural, mechanical, electrical, fire protection, civil/structural, etc.) for design of buildings, trailer yards, and parking lots.
  • Providing Subject Matter expertise for manufacturing plants and office buildings and building related systems as technical support for local facility groups at each site, as well as for submittals during project management.
  • Leveraging experience in pre-construction planning, project management, construction, and building design to ensure projects are designed and built to quality, cost, schedule and safety KPIs.
  • Ensuring customer satisfaction with proper communication and consensus with customer to support their needs.
  • Developing internal standard operating procedures & shikumis (work instruction sheets) for the section.


What you bring

  • Bachelor's (Mechanical or Electrical Engineer) or 5+ years equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in building design and construction.
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing plants and office buildings and building related systems (piping, power distribution, office interiors, concrete, and structural work).
  • 5+ years of experience in project management of manufacturing plant construction projects.
  • Intermediate level experience of computer skills (Microsoft Office - Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Outlook, Bluebeam/AutoCAD).
  • Able to travel up to 25%, and able to travel internationally (Canada, Mexico, Japan, etc.).


Added bonus if you have

  • Professional Engineering License.
  • Project Management Professional Certification.
  • OSHA 30 Certification.
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial mechanical systems (piping, chilled water, compressed air, etc.).
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial power systems (switchgear, power distribution systems, 480VAC and higher).
