Full Job Description
Woolpert is hiring a Stormwater Site/Civil Engineer to join our dynamic Water Team in Pennsylvania. This position is primarily responsible for supporting the technical delivery of projects and contributing to project phase and task execution. The role offers opportunities to grow technical expertise and project coordination skills while working alongside experienced professional engineers and subject matter experts.

This position will be part of a team engaging stormwater and energy clients in Pennsylvania and Virginia, as well as across the country, in support of client objectives in the areas of Water Resources Design, Drainage Design, Utilities Design, Site Civil Design, Process Improvement, and related studies and analyses.

What You Will Do
  • Support various phases of Site/Civil projects for energy clients in Pennsylvania, specifically in the areas of stormwater and erosion and sediment control design and permitting.
  • Prepare stormwater and erosion and sediment control designs that meet local and state regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in preparing permitting documents for approvals ranging from zoning permits through NPDES stormwater permits.
  • Perform technical aspects of project deliverables consistent with scope, schedule, and budget requirements.
  • Coordinate with project team members to support successful project execution and delivery.
  • Assist with project phase completion while ensuring compliance with quality assurance requirements.
  • Perform field work and attend client or public meetings as needed.
  • Analyze and interpret field data and project information and present findings in a clear and meaningful format.
  • Meet internal and external project deadlines.
  • Comply with and implement established QA/QC procedures.
  • Communicate project challenges related to schedule, budget, or quality to project managers and senior team members.
  • Support the development of stormwater design projects with consideration of local regulatory requirements and design standards.
  • Analyze and interpret stormwater modeling results for project development and capital improvement planning efforts.
What You Will Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Biosystems Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in site civil, stormwater, water resources, or related engineering projects.
  • Demonstrated interest and progress toward obtaining Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
  • Strong understanding of stormwater management and erosion and sediment control design principles.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively with clients, project team members, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Proficiency with hydraulic and hydrologic modeling software such as Hydraflow, HydroCAD, or similar platforms.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to evaluate technical information and develop sound engineering recommendations.
  • Experience supporting multidisciplinary project teams is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Pennsylvania stormwater regulations, NPDES permitting, and erosion and sediment control requirements is preferred.


Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Pay Range

$65,800-$98,800 USD
