Job Description:

The Role:

Our site in Hillsboro, OR is seeking a Engineer II, Quality Assurance Engineering to join our team. This role will support the development and execution of processes to ensure products and processes meet established standards. This role applies engineering fundamentals to perform data analysis, source and qualify new metrology tools and methods, investigate quality issues, and implement corrective actions. This role will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, enhances process capability, and helps maintain compliance with internal procedures and industry requirements.

What You'll Do:

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols and maintain a safe working environment for all laboratory staff.


  • Oversee inventory management, including ordering supplies and maintaining adequate stock levels.


  • Partner with the Engineering, Procurement, and Materials teams to ensure quality of, drive process improvements for, and control inventory of critical raw materials.


  • Develop working knowledge of all elements of lab systems to be the process expert in lab metrology, procedures, and best practices.


  • Develop, improve, and implement quality control procedures to ensure accuracy and reliability of laboratory results and documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements.


  • Support the Quality Manager with scheduling of testing and analyses of customer technical requests.


  • Review test results and analyses of final laboratory reports.


  • Participate in regular global meetings and internal initiatives such as Problem Solving, Change Management, Internal Audits, Project Development, Product Support, and Development Programs to share best-known methods and advance organizational goals.


  • Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and service providers as needed.


  • Work with lab and manufacturing personnel to adjust production batches and resolve quality issues.


  • Investigate and address quality complaints, identifying causes and implementing corrective actions, including process improvements to enhance agreement on customer and production needs.


  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity by conducting data validation, regular audits, and implementing data quality checks


  • Develop and publish key performance metrics for the health of the Entegris Quality ecosystem for the Hillsboro plant.


What We Seek:

  • 3+ years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 1 years and a Master's degree; or equivalent work experience.


  • Experience with quality management systems (QMS) and quality assurance tools (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean principles). Six Sigma Green/Black Belt preferred


  • Demonstrated success interacting with customers and the ability to transfer technical information.


  • Align internal and external stakeholders using data and adapting style to differing audiences and advising others on how to solve complex problems.


  • Experience consistently improving processes and applying quality tools and concepts consistently required for these improvements.


  • Ability to assess unusual circumstances and use sophisticated analytical and problem-solving techniques to identify root causes or variances. Resolves and assesses a wide range of issues in creative ways and suggests variations in approach. Experience with applicable quality tools such as pareto, FMEA's, SPC/SQC, histograms, trend analysis, process mapping, design of experiments, cause and effect diagrams, 8D problem solving methodology


  • High ownership and self-starter who can lead high-impact activities and drive project outcomes.


  • Experienced with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project). Proficiency in statistical software such as Minitab or JMP. Experience with camLine, laboratory information management systems (LIMS) SampleManager, EtQ, and/or SAP is preferred.


  • Knowledgeable or experience with Optical Comparator, CMM Measurement equipment, automated vision systems, calipers, gage blocks, mechanical test equipment.


  • Proven experience in a manufacturing or laboratory setting.


  • Strong understanding of laboratory operations, including equipment maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting.


  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.


  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards (e.g., ISO) relevant to laboratory operations.


  • Excellent leadership and communication skills. Enthusiastic learner and continuous improvement mindset.


  • This operation runs 24/7/365. Support for the team on this schedule may require flexibility outside of normal business hours.


  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
