Full Job Description
Job Summary:

At LG Energy Solution Arizona Inc., the Engineer II, Environmental & Sustainability will play a key role in supporting environmental and sustainability initiatives by identifying, evaluating, and controlling workplace and environmental risks. This role ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, while supporting the implementation of company EHS standards and programs. Acting as a technical resource to cross-functional teams, the engineer conducts audits, inspections, and incident investigations, and supports the development of sustainable practices to improve environmental performance and maintain regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform company permit application and renewal activities, including but not limited to air, waste, stormwater, and wastewater permits, as well as required environmental reporting.
  • Manage and drive continuous improvement of environmental programs, including wastewater, hazardous waste, air emissions, and stormwater compliance.
  • Support and drive the ISO 14001 certification process, identifying areas for continuous improvement across environmental programs to maintain ISO 14001 standards.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external consultants to ensure permit applications and submissions are accurate and completed on time.
  • Deploy and manage environmental initiatives to continuously improve the performance of environmental programs and processes.
  • Ensure all permits and reports comply with company standards and applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
  • Serve as a point of contact and correspond with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies as required.
  • Provide environmental review and support for site projects, including participation in management of change (MOC) processes.
  • Lead and participate in routine audits to support continuous improvement.
  • Maintain workplace cleanliness in accordance with 5S3R standards (5S: Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain; 3R: Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in environmental reporting, regulatory compliance, or a related function within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with environmental permits and reporting, including air, wastewater, stormwater, and hazardous waste.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience supporting or participating in ISO 14001 environmental management systems.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, team-oriented environment.


Skills:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including interaction with internal teams and regulatory agencies.
