Location: Virginia Beach, VA (on-site)

Department: Product Development & Engineering

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:15 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (ET)

Clinical Status: Clinical

HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT
The Product Development Engineer I assists in the design, development and maintenance of allograft manufacturing processes including improvements to existing products and processes. Drafts and executes performance and qualification test plans in compliance with Quality and Regulatory standards for allografts and medical devices.

Your work will have purpose every single day, contributing directly to life-changing outcomes.

This person will be required to continuously sit, stand, and walk. They will be required to frequently lift (average 50 lbs) and carry items (5-10 feet). Additionally, this person will be required to pass a pre-employment health screening.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Resource: Serves as the primary engineering resource and/or the project lead on projects using existing technology or as an engineering resource on new technology projects.
  • Protocols: Drafts and executes testing protocols for allograft tissues, processes, and equipment. Generates technical reports for verification and validation of new products/processes and/or improvement implementations.
  • Support: Supports the engineering needs of other LNH departments as determined appropriate.
  • Mentor: Responsible for mentoring peers, technicians on existing procedures.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • Two (2) years of engineering experience in a medical device or similar regulated industry (e.g. Aerospace, Pharmaceutical) OR Zero (0) years of experience with a master's degree in engineering


Preferred Experience/Skills/Certifications:
  • Master's degree in engineering
  • White Belt or Green Belt Lean Certification: Certification from LifeNet Health Lean University or similar
  • Two (2) years of directly related medical device engineering experience
  • Solidworks, MiniTab, JMP
  • Biomedical Engineering & Technology: Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology to production and development of clinical solutions.

  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage project activities and meet deadlines as required including the use of appropriate quality and design control tools and methods.
  • Critical Thinking: Uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Complex Problem Solving: Identifies complex problems and reviews related information to develop solutions and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Data Analysis: Uses mathematics and engineering principles to solve problems and is knowledgeable of statistics and probability.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and coordinate multiple activities with a wide variety of disciplines within the company; open to others' ideas; ability to lead project teams of technical staff.
  • Engineering & Technology: Knowledge of practical application of engineering principles to develop process and product solutions; experienced with a number of processes, systems, or products.
  • Communication & Presentation Skills: Ability to communicate conclusions and recommend path; ability to present complex information to peers.


COMPENSATION

Salary Range: $75,841 to $101,121 annually

Final compensation will be based on factors such as geographic location, qualifications, and prior relevant experience. The pay range for this position is $75,841 annually (entry level qualifications) to $101,121 annually (experienced in this role). Actual compensation may be higher based on the successful candidate's knowledge and relevant experience.
