Your ResponsibilitiesAs a
Engineer, Engine Electrical Systems for
JD Cary located in
Cary, NC or
Fuquay Varina, NC, you will:
- Support development, integration, validation, and production release of electrical systems and Engine Management Systems for Turf gasoline and diesel engine applications.
- Partner with engine, software, electrical, PV&V, manufacturing, quality, service, and supplier teams to deliver robust controls, diagnostics, communication interfaces, and supplier-delivered EMS content.
VISA Sponsorship is NOT available for this positionWhat Skills You Need- Coordinate development with engine suppliers, EMS/ECU suppliers, software teams, electrical teams, validation teams, factories, and service organizations.
- Develop product requirement documentation as needed for engine electrical components/systems.
- Support ECU/ECM integration, wiring interfaces, CAN J1939 communication, service diagnostics, software releases, and factory programming.
- Maintain EMS specifications, validation plans, diagnostic strategies, release documentation, and technical decision records.
- Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for electrical, software, diagnostic, communication, and control-related engine issues.
What Makes You Stand Out• Experience with gasoline and small diesel platforms used in Turf, commercial mowing, golf, utility vehicle, or compact utility equipment.
• Experience with Engine electrical systems - Sensors, Actuators, Charging Systems, and Engine Electrical Interfaces
• Familiarity with embedded software, software release coordination, J1939 diagnostics, service tool integration, and John Deere Custom Performance payload management system.
• Knowledge of and/or experience with functional safety, EMC practices, system risk assessment, controller hardware selection, or electronic product verification.
• Ability to resolve issues involving engine behavior, electrical interfaces, software controls, diagnostics, calibration, and supplier content.
EducationIdeally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- BS in either Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronic, Automotive, or Agricultural Engineering.
