Full Job Description
Job Title: Engineer - Energy Control Systems

Reports to: Supervisor, Energy Control Systems

Reports in Office, 5 days a week Location: Vestal, NY

The salary range for this position is dependent on location and experience level ranging from $100,000 - $109,500

Job Summary

To be an Engineer in supporting and maintaining the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system for Electric and Gas operations and ancillary modules/systems and related activities such as design, test and implement new systems & system support.

Responsibilities
• Defines and maintains SCADA databases and definitions. Maintains telemetry data and evaluates and maintains accurate information in the Electric Management System (EMS)
• Must be able to support the specification, design, testing and development of the EMS system to ensure that changing functional requirements are met.
• Design enhancements to the Energy Control Systems (ECS) to improve user interfaces
• Documents commissioning procedures and provides operational assistance and troubleshooting when needed.
• Coordinates the safe and orderly commissioning of new and redesigned intelligent electronic devices and instrumentation as well as other systems and components in substations and other connecting facilities
• Monitors and ensures that systems and components are designed, installed, tested operated and maintained according to the operational requirements and standards for safety and reliability
• Analyzes key power system data to ensure that the bulk electric system can operate in a safe reliable and coordinated manner in accordance with ISO/RTO operating principles and standards
• Works within the Control Center environment and supports Cyber Security and NERC/CIP requirements for Control Center operations. Maintains and creates documentation for supported platforms and systems to meet all regulatory requirements/ standards.
