Full Job Description
Who we're looking for

Toyota's SEP4 Department is seeking a passionate, highly motivated circuitry engineer. The primary responsibility of this role is the design of wire harness circuitry.

Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, the circuitry engineer will support the department's objective of developing circuitry designs that conform to Power Source distribution, Joints and splicing, CAN communication, Wire-to-Wire, and Grounding design guidelines, and will release technical data such as drawings and parts lists.

What You'll Be Doing
Designing the electrical backbone of next-generation vehicles, you'll play a hands-on role in bringing wire harness circuitry concepts to life-ensuring systems perform reliably, efficiently, and at scale. Success in this role means delivering high-quality circuitry designs that meet cost, performance, and timing targets while collaborating across engineering and supplier teams to drive innovation forward.
  • Create and review circuitry designs for power source distribution, connectors, joints, and grounding systems to meet cost, mass, and performance targets
  • Develop and align wire harness circuitry schedules with overall vehicle development milestones to ensure timely program execution
  • Drive the creation and release of wire harness drawings and change documentation, ensuring accuracy and readiness for production
  • Collaborate with suppliers to initiate and release design requests for power distribution components such as fuse and relay systems
  • Own and maintain wire harness parts lists, supporting traceability and configuration management across programs
  • Partner with system engineers and project leaders to manage wiring specifications, ensuring alignment, tracking, and timely distribution across teams
  • Apply Toyota Business Practices (TBP) to analyze challenges, develop solutions, and actively contribute to cross-functional working groups with suppliers and manufacturing teams
  • Support continuous improvement and team success through additional responsibilities that expand your expertise and impact


What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree that provides a strong foundation in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
  • 3+ years of experience where you've worked directly with wire harness suppliers in design, development, or production environments
  • Ability to interpret and apply circuit schematics and wiring diagrams across a variety of electrical systems
  • Foundational understanding of vehicle development and manufacturing processes that enables you to contribute across the full lifecycle
  • Programming experience or coding skills (such as Python) that enhance automation and engineering efficiency
  • Experience leveraging AI tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT) to improve productivity and streamline engineering workflows
  • Strong negotiation and influence skills that enable you to effectively partner across cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) to support documentation and collaboration
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills that enable effective collaboration in cross-functional teams
