SummaryAs part of the I&E Controls Group, the Electrical Engineer shall design and engineer the electrical systems for compression packages, gas plants and provide support for Enerflex's engineering groups, from initial design to implementation of our package solutions and plant facilities for oil and gas industry. Working with the electrical engineering team, the candidate would perform the necessary power studies, materials selection, and integration to produce a self-contained unit that is suitable for the customer's specific needs.
The system design for Enerflex's packages involve typical electrical components for control panels, cable, and tray design. Typical equipment includes specification and procurement of electrical components, cable, and cable tray (power and instrumentation). Work must be performed consistently with company mission and values and adherence to company policies and procedures
Principle Responsibilities and Duties- Provide Squad Check for project P&IDs and electrical drawings considering SOW and Turn-in data.
- Create load lists and perform electrical equipment sizing.
- Specify electrical equipment based on application of engineering judgement and electrical code and standards.
- Review vendor equipment drawings and create interconnect drawings to ensure accurate connections and scope of supply are met.
- Provide technical assistance for equipment integration and testing in our facilities and at customer's sites.
- Support Control Designers in the development of wiring diagrams for Electrical systems, Control Panel and/or Junction Boxes as per project proposal, customer specification and industry standards.
- Review or Approve project wiring diagrams for Control Panels and/or Junction Boxes working with Control Designer and Project Engineer to meet project documentation delivery commitments.
- Release project Bill of Material (BOM) and Control Panel or Junction Box to manufacturer and support fabrication questions/comments.
- Responsible for the accuracy of final project documentation related to Automation / Electrical (As Built package).
- Technical Support for Applications/Sales, Service and Retrofit groups. Support may include review of customer specifications and generate bid cost, support for Service technicians from the Office or in the field and training.
- Network and develop relationships with customers to further the Enerflex brand reputation and promise.
- Model and champion Enerflex core values in ways that center team culture on these values.
- Abide by and promote the Enerflex HSE policy.
Qualifications- Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering.
- Strong knowledge of various electrical components including PLC hardware, MCCs, VFD's, electrical switchgear and motors.
- Strong working knowledge and application of Electrical Codes (UL, NEC, IEC), including sizing of conductors, protection device selection, installation methods, and other code applications.
- Experience with generator packaging is an asset.
- Experience with ICSS design is an asset.
- Good analytical, engineering problem solving skills.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and written.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office application software.
- Field commissioning and startup experience is a plus.
- Travel may be required, up to 10%.
- Knowledge in AutoCAD Electrical and CADWorx is a plus.
