Job Summary

This position is responsible to the assigned manager for performing intermediate level engineering work activities and projects requiring the application of engineering knowledge in a safe, effective, efficient and economic accomplishment of assigned objectives.

Job Description

What We're Looking For:

Each of the positions in the Engineering job family is responsible for performing engineering work activities and projects requiring the application of engineering knowledge in a safe, effective, efficient manner for the accomplishment of assigned objectives. The following are activities that will be performed, but not limited to:

  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) for DICMs (Drop in Control Modules) and Panels. Responsibilities include: knowledge lead for specific equipment and technologies; answering all technical, design, and application questions; creating specifications; leading SME team meetings and training support SMEs'; supporting all aspects of the equipment such as design application, installation and testing, maintenance practices, and long term support and operation.


  • Lead vendor contract bid events including development of technical RFI, RFP, and bid templates; leading technical evaluation of received bids and creating recommendation of award for management review; developing catalog templates and ordering guides; coordinating drawing review, approval, and implementation into design standards, facilitating communication and support for project engineering and all other stakeholders.


  • Support of all asset management systems including but not limited to IPS, route studies forms, and DICM order forms.


  • Write, review, and contribute to the development of system-wide specifications, guidelines, and processes.


  • Act as technical liaison between equipment manufacturers/vendors and P&C Engineering, lead failure analysis of equipment, and champion lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives


  • Participate and support NERC compliance activities as assigned.


  • Familiarity with standards, codes, and regulations relevant to the area of assignment.


  • Understanding of Control Diagrams, Schematics and Manufacturer Outline Drawings.


  • Develop studies for systematic "asset management" and rehab programs when applicable.


What We're Looking For:

  • The engineer has typically acquired a Bachelor's degree in engineering in a program accredited by ABET* along with;
  • Two (2) or more years of related engineering experience.


*Individuals with a Master's degree in engineering from an engineering program accredited by ABET* may be considered for entry into the organization at this level.

*Individuals with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology can satisfy this degree requirement, if they obtain a certified Professional Engineering (PE) license.

*ABET - Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology.

Acceptable alternative is:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (non-ABET) plus a Master's degree or PhD in engineering from a university with an ABET accredited Bachelor's program.


**VP or above may waive the requirement for a degree from a university with an Non ABET accredited program

Compensation Range:

$87,633.00 - $109,543.00
